2-19-01 I have been over weight all of my adult life. I can't even remember being thin as a teenager. I started looking into WLS several years ago, but never thought I was ready to take THAT step. Well let me just say 50lbs. more added to my already over weight self and I'm ready. I'm scard, excited and worried all at the same time. I do not take this surgery lightly. I don't think anyone does. I think we reach a point in our lives were we just want to be happy and healthy. I know that I can't wait to feel better about myself and have a better quality of life.I have a wonderful husband who supports my desion to go forward with the surgery. I also have two boys, ages 16 and 12 who worry about me having the surgery. They are still to young to understand the heartache that comes with being overweight. My insurance company denied my first letter and I'm in the appeal process. Nuweigh assures me this happens all the time. The waiting is the hardest part.
