It's Been Awhile
Feb 17, 2008
I went to see the surgeon on Dec.22, 2007. My weight was 214. I was a lot disappointed because I did not get a fill that day. He told me he never fills before a holiday. That made sense to me. I was also upset to hear he was going to be leaving for a year for more trainning on plastic surgery. I would see him one more time before he leaves, and then I will be seeing a doctor he works closely with. I went to see him on Friday Feb. 15, 2008. My weight was at 192.2 and I had a BMI of 34.1. Not too bad. I also had my first fill. He injected me with 3 ml of saline. I am not afraid of needles but this one very large and thick.
It was a quick prick. I could feel it jiggling the port when the surgeon moved. That was strange feeling. Since the fill I was on a 3 days of clear liquids. I hate that! Then 3 days liquids. Next 3 days soft foods. Finally back to healthy foods.

I'm Home

Well I did it! I am sore and full of gas. I'm also kinda hungry but I don't feel like eating. I am still on the clear liquids and I have diarrhea.
I can't wait to eat something more than broth.

The Night Before the Big Day!
Nov 12, 2007
Well it's almost 9:30 pm and I'm getting ready for bed. Tomorrow is the Big Day. My surgery is scheduled for 9:30 am. I am excited and ready to become a new me. I'll probable be nervous tomorrow morning. I just hope I can get some sleep tonight. I got to tell you I am hungry! That clear liquid diet is hard to do. I'm actually looking forward to the puree foods. That's what my Thanksgiving dinner will be. Yummy!
My weight as of Friday at my pre-op with Dr. Kouli was 223. When I first started this journey to surgery I was 237. I've been eating better and exercising to prepare myself for surgery and my new way of life.
