Claire, I am very much interested to know if Dr. Warnock does the Duodenal Switch proceedure? Did he mention it? We used to be stationed there are Eielson AFB from 95 - 99 and then went to Minot ND & now are @ Ramstein AB, Germany for another 50 weeks. It would be nice to hear from you and i'd love to keep in touch. My email is: [email protected] Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you soon. Deb

There are always valid reasons for what God does and why! It's just so hard for us to 'see' what only He can. Keep your eyes on Him and He will lead you to where you are supposed to be! God Bless!

ok, I have started all over again. I found a doctor that takes Tri-Care and from what his nurse says he doesn't have any problems with the meds I am on. PRAISE GOD!!! And to top it off he is a Christian man. I can't ask for more than that. I want to thank Kathie in Hi, Patti in Oh, Kathy S here at Ft Wainwright and Nan from Seattle for ALL of your help. You guys kept me going through this tough time. Thank you for all of your prayers and encouraging words. So I am on track again. God Bless...

Claire, No great words of wisdom.. just sympathy. I spent 20 years married to a Navy man before he retired. Still deal with the Tricare thing but remember just how *&^* the military docs and Tricare used to be! I hope you can get them to reconsider. Anlother option (actually the one I ended up doing) is to go Point of Service. Tricare will only cover 50% of the surgeon fees but will still approve the surgery itself. To me it was worth the extra expense to have someone I trusted! Good luck! Tami

I tried to post this yesterday but it wouldn't work. So here I go again. Dr Felix's office never did call me back...so I called them and this time I spoke with Jan his NP. She was telling me that he didn't like me on my pain meds. I told her that I went off of one of them last week...but Dr Felix wants me off of ALL meds for 3-6 months. We got cut off...so I called back but Jan was with a patient so Rosemary got on the phone and said "at this time, Dr Felix won't do your surgery, but if you MOVE closer to us he will reconsider". I am an Army wife...I can just pick up and move. Needless to say I am sooooo upset. Why didn't they tell me that WHEN I was down there 2 weeks ago???? I thought it was odd that he doesn't even meet with his patients until the day of the pre-op appt. I did meet with Jan his NP and on that day I gave her a list of the meds I was on. Nothing was said at that time. The biggest problem is that Tri-Care is my insurence and for those of us in Alaska, Dr Felix is the ONLY surgeon that they are approving for surgery. Well this will not stop me. I have already called Trippler Medical Center and if I have to "MOVE" to Hawaii then I WILL JUST do it. What would be wrong with "moving" to Hawaii for 6 weeks? LOL I must say that I am VERY disappointed and very discussed at the way he does business....but I do KNOW that everything happens for a reason. God Bless....

Well, I called Dr Felix's office this morning. But the girl I need to talk to was with a patient, so "she will call back". Well that was 2 hrs ago. The girl I did talk to said that they are waiting for my dr (Dr Day) to call and talk to Jan the NP. Well, Dr Days office told me that he did call Jan last week. ACKKKKKK. All I want is my date. I have followed all the rules including getting off of one of my meds. I am thinking that Dr Felix's office just doesn't want to talk to me. Did anyone else have this problem?
