Hi Terri, I had the same problem as you, the clinic didn't submit my paperwork when they said they would. I finally called and basically got into it with the girl and her supervisor told me it was faxed that day (a Friday). I was approved the following Monday. Just keep the faith and go higher up if you have to get things moving. It sounds like you have a pretty good insurance company - Good Luck.

Hi Terri,I too can relate to where your coming from.I have always thought I was the biggest person, the ugliest and never thought I fitted in.This is a major reason why I want this surgery.I've let almost all my young years go,and I refuse to live in bondage anymore.I know surgery is going to change my life for the best.Good luck to you and God bless you LOL

Terri - I felt just as you describe - I know for me it was because I had to be somewhat in denial and block myself off from all the hurtful things people do and say and how they look at me the way I am now. It was a helpful protection, but ever since I got my surgery date, I see more, feel more and hurt over my condition and others insensitive comments and stares more. I know this is normal because I am beginning to see how much of a burden emotionally I've been carrying all my life - I'm sure I'm not alone in this. All my best to you - remember, you are not alone either. I am wishing you "smooth sailing" for your surgery and recovery. ((hugs)) Sharon

Terri, What you are feeling is exactly how I felt as a preop. I, too, was overweight my entire life. I had a 3 month wait for my consultation and that felt like 3 years! Then it was almost another 3 months before I had my actual surgery. The common experience seems to be the closer you get to your surgery date, the faster time goes. I was so disappointed to get a December surgery date in September. It seemed like years away. After a few weeks, it FLEW by. Now I am a day short of being 4 months postop. The whole journey feels like a blur almost. I can't believe its been almost a year since I got the ball rolling. It is all so worth it. I am down 70 lbs as of yesterday and more than halfway to my goal. If you would like, you can contact me at any time at [email protected] I'll be happy to coorespond with you, maybe it'll help the time go a bit faster. Good luck to you and be sure to post that surgery date when you get it!!

Terri I am so honored to be your angel! I think you are going to do fantastic! I hear Fabito is a wonderful surgeon, and don't worry, I'll be sure Southpointe takes good care of you!
