Daniel Fabito

"9/15/02....I met Dr. Fabito for the first time today and I love him...he was so funny. I spent more time laughing than anything. He showed us a slide show with a general history of wls, possible complications, and we found out that he has been performing wls since 1976 and has done about 2000 with only 7 deaths. That is WAY better than the national average. He even slipped in a few slides from his trip to the Philippines...some young Philippino ladies dancing (nothing inappropriate) and we all roared. I told him that I selected him based on the info from AMOS and that everyone had good things to say about him. He commented 'except that I am hard to understand'...I had no problem. I was nervous about the surgery until I met him. The note at the bottom of this page says that "100% positive reviews are less informative or even suspect".... So I will tell you that Dr. Fabito was late getting to the meeting....so now my info is no longer 'suspect'. 10/27/02....Well I am 12 days post op and doing fine...I would recommend Dr. Fabito highly. He is very thorough and pays close attention to details. He is very busy so expect to wait when you have a check-up appointment. 4/22/03...Im just over 6 month post-op. They make you wait forever in the waiting room...like 2+ hrs to get a check-up then you only see the dr for 3 or4 min. Luckily I havent had any real probs...he knows that so he doesnt seems to want to spend more than a couple min in the room with me. I found that a bit annoying...but I still believe that he is a wonderful surgeon. "

"Be prepared to wait FOREVER to get anything...they were decent about bringing pain and other meds....but I had to wait forever, like 6-8 hours for a sanitary pad (they told my hubby not to leave my suitcase in ICU),then they threw them on the table by the bed and did not bother to help me put one on. Once I got into a regular room I asked one of those nurses to help. Then I lad there for most of a day and they never hooked up my leg cuffs....things like that that really made me mad. EVERY time I told them I hurt, they were there fast to give me something. They have some so so nurses and some really outstanding nurse assistants who were very helpful and kind. This hospital was just getting organized for this kind of surgery and I think that within a few months, they will have their ducks in a row. "
