I am a 27 yr old single mother. I own a house, 2 dogs, a 2009 Chevy Aveo, and do it all on my own. My mom babysits my daughter while I work, as I have a 2nd shift job at a steel plant, where I process inbound and outbound trucks. I spent my life being happy and enjoying my time with much appreciation. When I was happy I liked to eat. I didn't know that would lead me to this path in life. At the time of my surgery, I was not at my heaviest weight.  I never intended on getting the RNY Bypass. I was actually happy, and I felt comfortable in my skin. I didn't care what others thought. I liked who I was.

One day in September 2008, I took my 18 month old daughter with me for my annual checkup to show her that a doctor is not scary. My doctor, not knowing I was a mother, posed a question that rattled me to the bone... "Would you like to see your daughter graduate?!?!"

Thus beginning my journey to a healthier lifestyle.
