Dr Oz Invite!

Feb 22, 2014

I got the surprise of my life two days ago. I received an email from The Dr. Os Show asking me to be on the show to share my weight loss experience. They are taping next week. As much as I would love to climb on a plane and go to my favorite place on the planet (NYC), I just cannot take the time off of work.

However, this has lit a fire under me. It is time to try to get my book (Self-help/ Memoir) out into the world. So I am dusting off this project that has been sitting on the back-burner, for about a decade, and give it a spin!

It is a miracle, 20 years+ of successfully being transformed by my gastric bypass. It is like I have literally lived the life of two people.

Juice Juice baby

Mar 31, 2010

I have been trying to eat 50% raw. For breakfast I pulled out my juicer and made an apple, carrot, beet, cucumber cocktail. It was bright red and oh so refreshing. Cost me under a buck. I bought a similar one last week at the raw restaurant for $5.88. I hate to waste all of the pulp so I made carrot cake like cookies with flax seed.

I have been reinvigorated because my daughter wants to lose weight and she is using me as "Mommy Craig" the Diet Queen. I figure if she is eating clean, well heck so should I.  Funny thing, I feel so much better physically when I do this. No tummy stuff, no hypoglycemia.

Time to blog...

Mar 30, 2010

It is time for me to become active in this community. I had my RNY 9/28/93 (almost 17 years and counting) Wow! Time flies. I have kept my weight down for the most part. My lowest weight was 130 post-op. I looked semi-skeletor, but loved it!  Today I hover at about 150. On my journey I have had a tummy tuck, a complete body lift (unsuccessful), I have been in 12-step food programs, been a vegan, a raw foodist, a Marathon walker.  I returned to school (I was a HS dropout) and completed my Masters in Education.

No matter what society may say (on a later date I will share a story about what recently happened to me while sitting out by my condo swimming pool). I know I am a success story, based solely on the fact that I,, at last, I love myself and am very proud of myself and my accomplishments" .

So consider this day one of blogging. I know I cannot "keep it" unless I freely "give it away"
