Well, it is January 2008 and having Gastric Bypass surgery isn't likely in my near future. My insurance company won't make any exceptions to cover the surgery. I have United Health Care and they have two (2) exclusions regarding obesity. Plus, the insurance company says that there are been some complications from the surgery from other patients and they do not want to take on the risk. Well, that is not good news for me. So, in the mean time my knees are getting bad due to the added weight and I am now on prescription antianflamatory pills to help with the pain. My insurance company doesn't care if my health is deteriorating they just don't want to spend the money. They only other thing to do is self pay and I cannot afford that. I also applied with the University of Iowa and since I have insurance coverage but the insurance won't pay, neither will the University. They have me stopped coming and going.
