Another step on the journey

Mar 17, 2009

Monday, I saw my Primary MD for the second of my six mandatory visits. Gave him all of the documents from my surgeon.

Yesterday, I saw the gastroenterologist. WOW! I did not realize that so much would be done with the first appointment. Blood work, chest x-ray, and electrocardiogram. He's taking care of my cardio report as well....has a cardiologist as a part of his team. Thursday I go for another test (something for the heart), April 4th the stress test, and then finally schedule the colonscopy and the endoscopy. I don't think I have ever had so many doctors appointments in my life. Must say it's a good thing to be taking care of me. Not something I am good at. Taking care of others has always been my thing. So I am  learning to focus on me, and take care of me like a baby who just doesn't know.  But I have a feeling that the more I do this, the better I will get at it...this loving me, paying attention to me, visualizing a happier future for me....I like it!

Off to a good start!

Mar 10, 2009

I had my first consult with my surgeon last Monday. He was very informative. He drew diagrams and explained various possible procedures that are available for WLS. We decided that the RNY will be best for me.

Today, I had my consult with the psychologist, and next Tuesday I have an appointment to see the gastro physician. I am on my way and getting veery veery excited!

Looking at the before and after photos on this site has helped me to start visualizing what my weight loss will look like. I am beginning to see myself as "in process".
