HI AMOS FAMILY!!!! I'M BACK!!!! :D :D :D I had Laparoscopic RNY on 7/01/02. Everything went wonderfully! Dr. Kelly told me that my surgery was 2h 5m! I was estatic! I had MINIMAL pain, rarely used the morphine pump, and stopped taking percocet the day after I got the prescription! I also got the 'most congenial patient' award from the staff on my floor! Today I started driving & had absolutely no problems. The only issue for me so far has been lactose intolerance, which I know is common & not something I'm concerned about at all. I've switched from skim to lactaid fat free milk -- everything's fine! I'm "obsessive-compulsive" when it comes to scales, so I've decided to let the nutritionist & PCP take care of weighing me. While I don't know how much I've lost in one week's time, I have been told by people who haven't seen me that there is a difference in my face, neck, abdomen, and legs. YAAAAHOOOOOOOO!!!! God Bless you all for your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes! This journey would have been difficult without you! love,

Barb, I hope that your surgery went as well as my wife Mickis' did. I don't see any updates on your page, so I assume that you don't have a computer literate friend to keep us in the know. I was so nice of you to send your encouragement to Micki before your joint big day. We are both keeping warm thoughts for you on your journey. I hope we can compare notes sometime in the near future.

HI AMOS FAMILY!!! It's JULY 1ST @ 12:14 am, and I am wired for sound! I wasn't anxious at all yesterday. There was enough to keep me busy & make the day fly by! One thing I had to do was exchange 12 boxes of sugar free pudding for surgar free jello. I was looking around the supermarket at all the junk, thinking to myself, "I'm NOT even going to MISS THIS!" I thought that it would be difficult to be restricted to having only clear liquids, but y'know, it wasn't a problem. My support network (immediate family, close friends, and AMOS members) emailed and called all day. God Bless each and everyone of you! Maureen, here are your wings! Thanks SO much for being the best Angel ever! See ya in a few days! KALA NICHTA (Greek for "Good night") and God Bless!!!
