Wow!!! Has it really been 2 months since I have been on here. So much has happened. After my granddaughter was born on May 29, 2007, I had rotator cuff surgery on June 29, 2007. I have had many surgeries but this one has taken a toll on me. I had no appetite and every thing I did eat seemed to go through me. I go to PT twice a week and see my surgeon again on August 17.
I went to my regular doctor today for my 5th visit in the 6 month wls program I have to go through for Cigna to approve me for surgery. I have lost 14 lbs since my visit in June. I was so week that I had to cancel my July appointment. This has put me at 26 lbs lost.
Oh well. It is late and I am still week so that is all for now.

6/4/2007 Grand Daughter Finally Arrives
Jun 04, 2007
May 29, 2007, 1:38 p.m. marks the arrival of Raquell Jade weighing in at 5 lbs 4 3/4 ozs, 17 1/2 inches long. She is beautiful (of course I would think so I am the grand mother). This is another reason to work so hard for a new life. I have to be around and able to play with my grand children.
June 29, 2007, I will be having surger on my shoulder (rotator cuff). It hurts more every day and now I have a perfect bruise that outlines the rotator cuff. It really looks strange and is very painful. I hope that this doesn't delay too much my quest for wls.
June 14, 2007 is my 4th visit for doc monitored weight loss for insurance approval of wls. I have lost 14.8 lbs since start.
Guess that is all for now. Look for picturs of my angels in my photos.

05/26/2007 Still waiting on new baby
May 25, 2007
Here we sit on Memorial Day Weekend still waiting on my daughter to have my newest grand daughter. I have a feeling we will be sitting in the hospital on Memorial Day and that will be fine. I think it would be wonderful to bring new life into the world while remembering the ones who are not longer her.
I return to the Doctor for the 4th month of the 6 month doctor monitored weight loss plan that my insurance requires. It is all slow going right now. I have to have surgery on my shoulder on June 29, 2007. It seems to ger worse by the day. I don't sleep much and it just hurts more all the time. I just hope that this doesn't hurt my plans for surgery before the end of the year.

5/24/2007 Refund from Psyc Evaluation
May 23, 2007
Imagine my surprise when I opened a refund of $125.00 from the pshchiatrist yesterday. I made sure that I got an authorization from my Mental Health Provider before I went. I received a EOB from them a few weeks ago saying that I only owed $75.00. I had written a check to the Psychiatrist for $200.00 and he sent me a refund for $125.00. I was all ready for a fight to get my money back and never even had to call them. I was pleasantly surprised.
Well we still have no baby yet. If she doesn't go by March 29th we have to be at the hospital early that morning to induce. So we will definitly have a baby on Tuesday next week. :0

It has been several days since I last blogged. I went to the doctor and had lost some weight. Then I went to the orthopedic doc and found out that I have to have surgery on my shoulder. I have a tendon that is torn is half and bone spurs that are causing tears in other tendons. It is very painful and they have scheduled my surgery for June 29, 2007. I hope it doesn't slow down my quest for wls. I don't think it should as I still have 3 months left on my doc monitored diet.
My daughter is scheduled for May 29, 2007, to be induced if she has not gone before. She called me a little while ago and she is having a contractions. They are kind of sporadic right now but who knows, I may have a new granddaughter this weekend.
I go back to my doctor in June for dmwl plan insurance requires. I cannot wait to get started getting ready for that surgery. Who would have ever thought that anyone would be excited about having surgery.

05/ 09/2007 Upcoming Doc Appointment
May 09, 2007
Several things going on now. We are really in baby mode waiting on that new grandbaby any day now. Also, have been in a lot of pain due to rotator cuff tendinitis also have arthritis in that shoulder. Sleeping seems to be out of the question these days. I have a doc appointment on Tuesday next week. This is month 4 in my doc monitored diet plan that insurance insist that it must have. I have actually lost 8 lbs since my last visit. Not a lot in a month but not bad. Still not smoking. I think blogging helps even if I am the only one reading. I am so eager for this 6 months thing to be over. I know that it will come. But sometimes I wonder if it is a mistake. Do I really need this? But then I remember all the failed weightloss attempts and I know that it is not a mistake.

The Dreaded 2nd Doctor Monitored Diet Plan that I was talking about on the 4/17 well that was today and I gained 5 lbs. However, she says that I really didn't that I was the same as the day she saw me which is good because I have stopped smoking and most people do gain weight when they quit smoking. I am just going to have to make healthier choices this month that's all. Work a little harder at it. I am not trying to kill myself, but I would like to get rid of a little before the surgery on my own and pave the way for a healther start after surgery.
04/14/2007 Second Visit in Doc Monitored Diet Plan
Apr 14, 2007
I don't look forward to getting on those scales. I know I don't have to lose to get approved for surgery, but I hate to go in and get on the scales and see them stay the same or go up. I was down 4 lbs the first time, but that was after fasting. I don't think that is going to happen Friday. I just want this 6 month thing to end. So I can file my paper work with the insurance company. One bright side and a wow for me is I haven't smoked in 3 weeks as of Friday 7:30 a.m. And that is a pat on the back to me by me as I was a 2 to 3 packer for the past 30 years!!
4/10/2007 Going Through the Long Journey
Apr 10, 2007
Well I have started the process. I have seen the nutritionist and the pshchologist and been cleared for surgery by both. The thing is my insurance company requires the 6 months Doctor monitored diet plan. I actually had to change doctors and find one who would support me in my search for a new healther lifestyle.
I gave up smoking 18 days ago for my health as well as the surgery. It is amazing how much better I feel just giving that up.
I see the doctor and the dietician on the 4/20/2007 for the 2nd visit of the 6 months until I can file my paper work with insurance for surgery.
