I'm Still Happy and Losing the Pounds
Oct 11, 2008
I'm now wearing a size 16W, down from a 28/30. The difference is amazing! I actually put on a pair of the the jeans that I was wearing pre-surgery and there is enough room in them for another person. The only thing that I can say is that I'm so glad that I made the decision to have the surgery.
I'm thankful for the support of my family and other members of this site for their support! Lastly, I've gone from weighing 341 pds to 220 pds.
God bless,
Beverly
I'm Still Excited About My Choice
Jun 08, 2008
Yet again, it has been a while since my last post. Things have been really busy, so it has been difficult to post as often as I'd like. With that said, things are going really well. I've lost a little over 100 pds. Everyday is challenge to ensure that I eat the right foods and excerise.
I feel so much better than I did prior to the surgery. I have more energy and mind set change which allows me to keep in the forefront of my mind that I don't want to go back. I hope that anyone else that has made the decision to have surgery (whether lapband or bypass), will find the same happiness and joy.
Losing Weight and Loving It
Apr 04, 2008
With that said, life is good! I'm am so thankful that I made the decision to have the gastric bypass surgery. I'm currently down from a size 30 pants to 22. I am so excited! I exercise every day and feel very guilty if I don't. I've ordered the hip hop abs videos which are really good. I also use the treadmill, walking off the pound videos, step and walking around the track outside. I am really committed to meeting my weight loss goal and maintaining the loss for the rest of my life. What I found to be really important is that not only is having the surgery a physical change (weight loss), it also has to be a mindset change. We must have to change our beliefs regarding how we eat and the importance of exercise to maintaining what we've started.
I have no regrets and am willing to share my personal experiences with anyone who needs encouragement or considering having the surgery.
Things are Going Great!
Feb 25, 2008
I am so happy that I made the decision to have the surgery. I've already had to buy a few new outfits. I've begun a daily exercise routine. It just seems that after having the surgery, my entire mind set has change.
Again, I am so thankful that I had the surgery.
God Bless,
Bev
Life is Great!
Feb 05, 2008
I am so glad that I made the decision to have the surgery. It has definitely changed my life in a positive way. I've lost approximately 37 pds since my surgery. It's difficult for me to tell; however, I've received a lot of compliments related to the weight loss.
God is good and I am Happy!!!!
Promoted to the Next Eating Phase
Jan 02, 2008
On another note, I am happy with my choice to have the surgery. Things are getting easier. The hardest tasks for me is getting on a schedule when it comes to taking my vitamins. I think that it will be much easier now that I am able to eat soft foods. The foods will help to coat my stomach which will make it easier to take the pills. In addition eating the mushy foods increase my desire to drink water.
Until I post next time!
Home and Healing
Dec 25, 2007
My surgery was successfully completed on Thursday. It was a little more difficult the doctor expected and took 4.5 hours versus the usual 2 hours. I'm really blessed to have wonderful surgeons. The first and second days after surgery were the hardest. My second day in the hospital is when I made myself start walking. I did smal walks and increased the distance each day.
I was released from the hospital on Sunday. I'm feeling better with each passing day. I haven't taken a pain pill since Sunday, the day I was released from the hospital. As of today, I don't have any regrets. I have to call tomorrow to schedule my 10 day appointment with my sugeon. After my t10 day appointment, I will get prompted to the mushy (soft food) stage of the program. My struggles are making myself eat although I'm not hungry, getting all of my vitamins in and drinking enough liquids including my protein drinks. I know that these struggles get better over time. I am patient and know that anything worth having is worth fighting for. I feel that my weightloss journey is worth fighting for and things will get better everyday. I am happy and have no regrets!

The Count Down Has Begun

I completed my pre-surgical informaton with the nurse at the hospital on Thursday. Unfortunately, I won't be having my surgery done at the same hospital due to them being booked. It's okay though because I will be closer to home this time.I meet with my surgeon on Tuesday to discuss surgery expectations and check my weight loss progress after being on the liquid diet. I'm really excited that the time is already here. I'm ready to move forward with the next phase of my life as a loser (of weight) on the winning side of my weigh loss journey.
