Hello World!!

I'm doing this procedure for the same reasons as most of you all.  I've been the 'Big Guy' all my life, and its time for a change.

I was tall and skinny until 2nd or 3rd grade, then my weight started piling on.

I grew to a height of 6' 5" by high school, and for about a year, was in fairly good shape, running 2-3 miles a day, working out, and maintaining a weight of about 240.

But, time went on and the pounds started piling up from there.

I think I averaged 290-320 all during my 20s, and that rose to an average of 320-340 during my 30s.

Now in my late 30s, I'm topping the scales at 375, and now with a 2 year old son, I need to get my weight and my life back on track.

I originally was going to do the gastric bypass, but after doing alot of research, I switched to the Lap Band.  I think the bypass is safe enough; I just thought the Lap Band was a better fit for me.

I'm looking to get back to around 230 pounds in 12-18 months.  I need to be in somewhat good shape going into my 40s to be able to have fun with my son Tanner as he grows and matures, and starts playing sports.

I'm also looking to get rid of my sleep Apnea, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.

As I'm writing this, I'm awaiting my ride to my Endoscopy appointment.  I haven't ate or drank anything in a while, and am getting very thirsty.

I have just over 2 weeks until my surgery date, and I can't wait to get it done!!!

I've had other pretty serious surgeries before, knee ACL replacement, ankle surgery, nasal surgery (to try to help with my sleep apnea, which I hope will go away soon), and two hernia surgeries.
