Hey all! Just wanted to give quick update... I have some VERY exciting new, guys! I have officially been APPROVED!!!!!! I got the call from Dr. Bertha's offcie this afternoon after luch @ work! Can u believe it! I can not get over how lucky I was to get approved in, like, 48 hours! Is this really happening?? LOL! I guess now I just have to get eveything in order for April 19th! I have a sleep study on april 4th & then after that..I guess I must play the waiting game until the BIG day! You have all been so great... All of your stories have been most inspiring & I thank u all for your wonderful well wishes and words of wisdom.

It's me again! Just a quick hello to let you all know that I
had my sleep study done 4/4/04 @ The sleep disorder center in morristown, nj. It went well...The staff was super sweet , especially kerry..she totally put me at ease! Turns out.. I have a pretty darn serious case of sleep apnea! Makes sense since I all but drag myself, kicking & screaming outta bed every morning..lol...But i have to get fitted for a cpap sometime within the next week & it should be delivered to my home where
a cpap home health technician will show me how to use that contraption! Anyhoo. ..thingz are still going well..I told my bosses @ work about the surgery & they are very supportive & helpful. My last day is 4/16! Woohoo...
I did , however, hurt my right knee last week & it is still quite painful..i was just walking , like I always do.. & it just gave OUT how bizarre! So, now I am limping around until it gets better..I tried everything from ice to heat..but still hurtz like a B*tch! Oh well..I am sure this too will pass..right??

My, my, my... how time flies!!!! Well I had my surgery on 4/19 and it went very well. I stayed in for an extra day as I was running a slight fever & the Doc wanted to get that under wraps before sending me home. Sorry I took so long to update, but my computer crashed, like, 3 days before my surgery & I JUST got back on line last night!
Anyhow...the surgery went smoothly & I was up and walking the halls later that afternoon! It was painful ..but actually less painful than I thought it might be. I actually didn't even need to fill my pain rx once I got home ..just took a couple of Tylenol when things would get kinda rough. Dr. Bertha & the nurses at Morristown Memorial were so great...I felt well taken care of.
My one week appointment was 4/28 & Doc said I was doing very well..no nausea etc...not much pain & get this..22 pounds lighter!! Hello?!!??! How cool is that?!?
I am tolerating my soft foods very well thus far...everything from hummus , scrambled eggs, even a piece of chicken in marinara sauce( albeit a very small piece ( lol) ).....
For my main source of prtein I make sure I get in two Atkins Advantage shakes ( 2 scoops w/ 8oz of skim plus milk gives you 26 grams of protein!!) and the Cappuccino flavor is quite tasty!
I guess thatz is for now.. will write more soon! thanks to everyone who sent me emails or left posts for me! I truly appreciate all the kind words of encouragement...They really must have worked because I was unusally calm & collected before the operation
