Dear Dawn.........don't worry about your up and down feelings. You are very normal. I'm 2 1/2 weeks away from my surgery and I'm happy, scared, excited, dreading, optimistic, sad, and thrilled and all at the same time. I may go into that surgery room sniveling and crying but by golly I'm going in!! I think it's just our nerves. When we wake up after surgery, we will wonder what all the big fuss was about. Say goodbye to the old sick and always tired you and get ready to meet the healthy energetic new you! I can't wait to get rid of this thick shell I'm under! God bless you!

Hi Dawn! I'm post op 4 weeks now and I can tell you from experience...it will be a BREEZE! Hang in there! I had my surgery in New Haven, CT. I live in the New London County area. If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail me! You won't miss the food at first because you will be enjoying liquids and soft things as you heal up. I am just now starting to eat "real" food and it is a whole new experience. It is a treat to eat healthy...I don't miss the ice cream I once ate a pint of daily...Your life is worth more than a bag of M&Ms....You will be fine! Sending best wishes your way for a smooth surgery and healthy recovery! Love & Hugs from Old Lyme.......... KathyA & Spike (the Wonder Pouch)

Dawn~~~Please don;t worry about missing out on the foods you love! You are gonna come through this surgery with flying colors, and with any luck, be able to eat all of the foods you eat now, just in smaller portions. I am almost 3 months post-op, and I have been able to eat everything.......chocolate, steak, .....whatever!!! Just be careful, and take care of yourself, and try to be patient.....especially in the beginning.

Hi Dawn! I went thru about one week of mourning food. But I was not feeling good yet. I feel great at 2 months post and don't miss a thing. I used to be a sugar addict. Doesn't bother me a bit now. You've made a great decision girl! Soon you will be a LOSER! What a great name!

Hi Dawn! I haven't had my date set yet but I have had my first consult with the surgeon. I have been on such an emoitional coaster and food issues have been at the top of the list. Every time I eat something I think this may be the last time you eat this for awhile! Funny how we love the thing that got us in the shape we're in today. I've ask my AMOS family many times for advice and found out all these emotions are perfectly normal. So hang in there and before you know it you'll be seeing a new you in the mirror. God bless and I'll be praying for you.

Hi Dawn- Your big day is almost here!!!! Then you will be a new woman. As far as missing food, I was the biggest emotions eater before surgery, and now I barely miss it. I'm too busy and on the go with all this new found energy that I have to miss it. Well anyways, I will be in your cheering section on your big day and wish you a uneventful surgery and recovery.~~Hugs~~ Jen 3/18/02 -61 lbs.

Dawn, My surgery is on monday, the 3rd. I understand totally what you are feeling. My pre-op testing was today and I asked lotsssssss of questions. I feel a little better. Yesterday, I felt nauseated and had a headache that I know was stress!!! I am scared about the surgery, but I am more afraid of what will happen if I dont. I will pray for you to be calm and positive about your surgery and you do the same for me! Thank you. Deborah
