I am a young 29 year old mother of three. I am married to a navy man who is always on the go. We meet in basic training, it should be a movie. I love my life and love to live it. I am very active in my community and with my children, all boys 10, 9, & 3.
I started have "weight issues" in 1997 while in the Navy. I know that it is not the typical life long battle but for me it is long enough. In Jan of 1997 while pregnant with my oldest son I fell and unknowingly broke my back. I was not able to regain my pre pregnancy active self due to the serve back pain. Not wanting to make it worst I really slow down. Then in 1998 less than a year later the unbelievable happen, I fell again. I again unknowingly broke my back and discovered that I was expecting again. The few activities I was able to due went south, deep south. Long story short I gain a lot of weight and was out of shape.
Fast forward to 2001 I found out what was causing my back and body pain (Fibromyalgia) and got some relief from my depression. Although I had some answer for the pain and the sadness, I needed some help for the 180 lbs I gained. I was told by many doctors that “weight loss will cure what ill you” but not one knew how to help me. I spend time and money on gym membership and personal trainers, all whom had the same motto “no pain no gain.” This would not work due to my back issues and not to mention the Fibromyalgia pain. I would workout and then hurt for 3 days in bed not functional for a mom.
After changing to a new doctor, who is great, he really listens to me and my concerns and suggests
