Well its been 11 months since my bypass, and next Tuesday I am having a hernia repaired and tummy tuck. I have been at goal for several months now and look and feel just great, absolutely great. Now its time to get rid of some skin. Ins. hasn't approved the lower body lift, so the plastic surgeons office and I will have to work on that appeal. My bypass surgeon does the TT and Hernia Repair, it has been preapproved by ins.

Donna, CONGRATS on your successful weight loss. You should really be proud of yourself. I hope to be joining the losing side soon myself. It has been a very long battle but I must say one that will be worth it in the end. Your friend, Tami Mitchem

Now it has been 7 1/2 months, I am down 77 lbs. and at goal, the Dr. is extremely pleased with my success and said I have done better than the averages. In Sept. (my 1 yr. anniversary) appt. we will talk about reconstructive surgery and he will send me to a plastic surgeon and we will see what ins. will cover.

Well its been 5 months today since I had my surgery, I am down 70 lbs. WOW!!! This is such an exciting journey, and the weight loss is extremely favorable for me. I have never regretted having this surgery, I feel great, health is improved. I encourage all my bariatric buddies whoever you are to go forward and have this surgery... Yes there are risks as there are risks in everything we do in life. Its also a risk to remain morbidly obese.... Go for it, and don't look back, whatever is meant to be will happen. Well it is now 11 weeks post op, and I have lost over 50 lbs. and am once again, losing weight, I hate the plateaus.... It seems every month when my cycle starts I lose 5 lbs. in the first few days, in previous years, those 2 days were 5 lb. gainers. Go figure, I can't. Anyway I am so thrilled with the results of my surgery, no problems at all. Weight is falling off and everyone says I look 10 years younger, and like a different person. God Bless Dr. Madan!!! P.S. First bloodwork since surgery came back all in normal ranges.......

Well it is official, I have lost 40 pounds at 8 weeks post op. I feel like the Dr. was even impressed with my progress, boy has this weight loss really made a difference in my appearance. Good thing all can't see the flabby skin underneath, he said after 18 months we will start to talk about plastic surgery for boobs, but, thighs, and stomach. I still need to drop about another 40 lbs. he said and then my body needs to level out......God Bless Us All!!!!!!

Tomorrow I will be 8 weeks post op, where has the time gone? I have lost 40 lbs. so far, am having my period right now, and figure when it stops a few more pounds will go as well. I probably need to loose another 40 or so to be at goal, (Dr. never told me a goal weight). I will ask when I go for my appt. this week. I am having so problems sometimes as to finding varying foods to eat, I am getting real tired of chicken. It seems when I venture onto other proteins loosing slows down. But I'm not really worried about it. I just have to keep my liquids and solids separated. I know the weight will keep falling off, I just have to keep at it. I was a baby looser only 100 lbs. over weight at surgery date. God Bless Us All in the journey!!!
