I have known Beth since we were each in the seventh grade. While I don't personally know what it is like to be overweight, I want to show my support for my long time friend, and say some things about her, to those of you who don't know her personally, that she is too modest to say herself. One thing I will say about her, other than you can always count on her being a true friend, is that Beth has never been anything less than a fighter. She is a wonderful person with a heart of gold and spunk and while we've been through some tough times, she's always been good enough to stand by me, in my stupidest of times, and I intend to pay that back. Beth you are a beautiful person and always have been. I admire your bravery in choosing the surgery and will be by you, physically, spiritually, and any other way I can. Even my mom is saying prayers for you and thinking good thoughts. Don't ever think you are in this alone. deal? In fact, you ahve more people supporting you than you can possibly imagine. I'm hopeful for you, I'm praying for you, and when you and your girl scout troop are marching along that hike, I'll be applauding you, but then I already am. I love you. Do you remember when we were in Bree's basement having our high school sleepover, and we all shared our deepest hurts? It brought us all closer together, and yet you've been strong enough to share with all these other people. I believe that God hands all of us exactly what he knows we can handle, so those of us who are strong are the ones who may have the rougher road, but who come out shining in the end. I can see you coming out of this on top, and you are a good enough person that you'll offer your help to others and that is the good that will come from this. You are a fantastically good person, full of hope and sunshine and smiles....and a hug waiting for anyone who needs it. I hope you'll remember that i'm here for you, and here to listen when you need it too. I am proud to say I know you and have you as my friend. You are amazing, and a wonderful gift to the world. You go girlfriend! Don't ever look back, full speed ahead, cuz I got your back. -Cory Wood

Elizabeth, I am wishing you a successful, complication-free surgery and a smooth, quick recovery. I had my open RNY on 12/10/01 and have absolutely NO regrets other than not having done this several years sooner. It is, without a doubt, the best thing I could have done for myself. God bless you as you begin your healthy new life.

Elizabeth, I to am a bit scared right now. I go in on the 23 of this month, and i keep thinking about the whole thing surgery etc.. We will pull through though, if we concentrate on the good things that await us. I will pray that all goes well for you and that you are up and running in no time. Dana

I wish you all the best on your upcoming surgery. I hope all goes well and that you have a problem free recovery. My husband and I both had wls in 2001 and have lost a combined total of 280 lbs. YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!
