I am Laura's angel, Gypsy. I was with her all day today & she did great & there were no complications!! Ok....one little complication, her IV infiltrated & she had to have it re-started & she has tiny little veins that are hard to get but the nurse did a great job with 1 try (not so lucky to begin with it took 3 trys....ouch, I felt so sorry for her). She came through like a champ! Her surgery was done in 68 minutes. I left about 11:30 p.m. tonight & she had stood up by her bed for a few minutes & walked in place a little. She is having some pain but doing better than she expected. As always she is a great lady & glad to hear from everyone too! I had my whip ready to crack it & get het up but didn't need it after all....darn I was looking forward to that....LOL!!! Please send Laura your good wishes & prayers she will appreciate all of them. Laura: After all you've been through with the initial denial and David's accident (yes, someone was reading your page! And, I'm sure more than one person! LOL), you deserve this! I'm wishing you only the best for an uneventful surgery and smooth recovery. :) Yes, there are many adjustments to being a 'thin' person and people do treat you differently, but I'm sure you will work through those issues in due time! All the best, (lap ds with gallbladder removal, January 25, 2001, Dr. Gagner/Mt. Sinai/NYC, preop: 307 lbs/bmi 45 (5'10") now: 162 lbs/bmi 23)
