"I met with Dr. Koning on Jan 18, 2001. I really liked him. He is very honest and up front with you. He seems to have a real genuine compassion for the obese person. I liked his staff as well. They have needed a little prodding at times by me to get referrals but they got them done. We will be submitting to the insurance company very soon for the surgery approval, so I will know soon if the staff is right on top of things now or not! I am good at hounding if I have too!!! Dr. Koning is very big on the aftercare for his patients. He has a structured aftercare program. He throughly explained all of the risks to having the surgery and not having it. I would give Dr. Koning a 10. 6/4/01 Insurance wouldn't let me use Dr. Koning at Good Sam Hospital, so I will be using Dr. Friedman at Providence. I met with him today and really liked him. He explains things very well and seems very caring. My surgery is scheduled for August 2, 2001."
