So glad you made it through your surgery! I pray you feel the love and support that I did during my initial recovery. Take to heart all the advice on walking and water drinking, especially in this heat! The 2 W's, water/walk, I promise will by key to your success. Best wishes now on the REAL journey.

Hey...how come no one has congratulated Chris on successfully making it to the "other side" yet??? C'mon, guys! Anyway, I spoke to Chris again around 6pm (EST) today & she sounded in much better spirits! She said she's already gone walking twice & she's been drinking water & apple juice (yum!). She's not hungry at all & she feels really good when she walks. She sounded great! Much success to you, Chris! Hugs, Jamie ;-)

I just spoke to Chris...she sounds good! She said she feels much better now than she did several hours ago (makes sense!). She said she wasn't in any pain, it was just more of a "discomfort". It took a while to figure out what her room # was & get ahold of her, but if anyone else would like to contact her personally, the ph # at JFK Medical Center is (561) 965-7300 & I believe her room # is 365A! I will try to call her again tomorrow to see how she's feeling...

Well, I called the hospital around 4:30pm (EST) & was told Chris wasn't in a room yet, she was still in recovery. I then tried Chris's husband's cell# that she gave me & I just got a call back from him. He told me she went into surgery a little later then scheduled, around 12:45pm & she just got out of surgery about an hour or so ago. He still hasn't gotten to see her since before surgery but Dr. Liem told him everything went fine. Dr. Liem also told him something about Chris having a swollen liver (which is common for us heavy folks!) & that her gallbladder was pretty much the whole length of her liver & it was too risky to remove it, so her gallbladder wasn't removed. They also gave her a central line in her neck during surgery so they wouldn't have to keep "sticking" her while she's there. All in all, it sounds like all went well. Her husband, Lawrence, will let me know of any new developments & what her room # will be, etc. when he knows. She may still be in recovery for a few more hours. Great Job, Chris...& Congratulations!!!! ;-)
