Your beautiful!! Congrats on your weight loss.

It has been a while since I've posted but I read every single day. This is still the most amazing thing I've ever done for myself. As of last Wednesday (12-11-02), I have lost exactly 50 pounds and 29 inches. I've now surpassed any previous weight loss amount (ever), and I weigh less than I have in the last 9 years. I only have 50 more pounds to lose, so I'm halfway to goal, but honestly, if I never finish the last 50, I'm so happy weighing 184 pounds. I made it through Thanksgiving eating small portions of pretty much anything, including a small slice of pumpkin pie, and I still lost 5 pounds over that week and weekend. I had a terrible bout with steak a week later, however. I got very sick and threw up pretty hard and my stomach hurt for a couple of days. That was scary, and I think I'll be avoiding steak for a while longer. I read this site everyday and continue to learn new things. I finally found a protein shake that I like -- it is ProBlend 55 Alpine Vanilla. I got a hand blender for an early Christmas present and it helps to mix everything and keep it from being lumpy and grainy. I highly recommend getting one. Two of my friends are now in the process of being approved for WLS. Both of them are lucky enough to have insurance coverage (dogs! lol), and I'm excited to know that people around me are taking this exciting journey as well. I feel incredible, even if nothing in my closest fits. Over Thanksgiving, I went shopping at Target (!!) and got some size 15 low waisted, bell-bottom pants that were very outside my character, but I was assured they looked terrific. I bought a peasant shirt to go with it and I wore the whole outfit to my work Christmas party last night. I felt a little strange because the style was so different for me, but I still enjoyed it. I'm wearing mostly size 14, but those are quickly becoming too big and financially there isn't anything I can do about more clothes. I went to Goodwill but had no luck. Santa has said he would like to bring new clothes to me, but he doesn't want to waste his money when they won't fit in a couple of months (or weeks at this rate! lol).

Hey all! I am 7 weeks post-op and have lost 37 pounds and 19 inches! The loss has slowed down in the last two weeks, but who cares??? It is still going in the right direction :-) My brother is getting married next weekend and I get the "priviledge" of wearing a hideous spaghetti strapped bridesmaid dress (blech!), but it definitely looks better on me now than it did 7 weeks ago. I had to have it altered all over. I continue to eat well, but occasionally have problems at lunchtime. I think it is because I eat with people who eat really fast. I've vomited about a dozen times since the surgery, and there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason as to why, but it isn't concerning me at this point. Good luck to all!!!!!

Happy Saturday everyone! I went for my one month (which was actually 5 weeks after) follow up appointment. I've lost 31 pounds!! I haven't been able to exercise as much as I want because I've been traveling, but I'm hanging in there as best I can. Good luck to all those preops out there!

Hey all! I'm home from the hospital -- 4 days post surgery (almost 5 since it is 3am). I am going to post all the details on my main profile page, but I wanted to post here to let you all know that it was a flawless procedure and a moderately pain-free stay in the hospital. I can't believe that I am on the losing side now. I have had absolutely NO cravings for any foods and I honestly can't imagine ever wanting anything other than nice soft foods. I realize that must have to change over time, but for now, I'm content following all the rules without beating myself up. I do not know if I have lost any weight yet because they didn't weigh me at the hospital and my home scale is very off. I'll just wait until my 4 week follow up visit to see how many pounds have disappeared. My brother's wedding is in November, and my mother, cousin, and I all have placed our bets as to how much weight I'll have lost by then :-)
