Christy... I'm so proud of you... Updating your profile and all.. You Go Gurl... I'm sure we will all have those hurdles you are talking about, but it's part of the learning process. We have to learn how to live this new style. We'll have ups and downs good days and bad. Just like a baby learns it's relationship with things, we have to learn a new relationship with food. I know you can do it girl.. We'll do it together. Love ya. I'll see ya next week.

Hi all.. Well I am in my tenth week and 48 lbs lighter! It is just so encouraging every day to get up and know that there are positive things in store for me today. I just love this weight loss journey. I have realy been working hard at trying to get all my proteins in. Still struggeling with that. If anyone has any suggestions with protien bars I am all ears! I joined Curves two weeks ago and it is now my new hobby. I figured while I am in rapid weight loss I will go as much as possible, (6 days a week) until my weight loss slows down, and then I am hopeing that this exercise program will have become something that I just can't live without.I pray this every day before I even begin my routine! I am hopeing to reach the 50 lb mark this week. I know that between God and I ,and surgery,....it is now possible!!!!!!!

To hilte let me just say that I am in my 8th week and have lost 43lbs. I feel better than I have in a long time. Last month I went to my support group meeting and it was a real eye opener for me.It realy helped to motivate me and get me started exerciseing. I finaly came to grips with the fact that I was going to have to put some effort into this If I wanted to get the most out of it. It was one of those pivitol moments for me. Its great to be back in the swing of things and out and about. Surgery has been one of the best decisions I have made for myself. If I feel this good at 43lbs imagine how great it's gonna be in two more months. It's good to be excited again about the future.

I can't wait to see ya again. I know you look great. Tell Charlie I said hello. P.S. I got your card. Did I call to say thanks? If not... I'm sorry. The card was very nice. I'll talk to you soon.

April 25, 2003, Well its been 25 days since surgery and I have lost 25 pounds! Since day 10 I have been on a soft food diet and it has been pretty easy to follow. By now I am supposed to be introducing more meats and things to my diet along with some pastas still staying away from the breads, chicken, corn and rice.I think the hardest habit to break in the begining was not to drink with my meals. I made that mistake once and like I was told it was a VERY uncomfortable feeling. The only way I know how to describe it is to compare it to when you unplug the bathtub drain, and imagine that in slow motion inside your tummy. Not good.So I have learned to drink after eating and I am now working on waiting as long as I can to do that. (one thing at a time)Old habits are hard to break and we sure have had alot of practice! During the first two weeks of my weight loss I thought "this is going to be a breeze". Because the weight was just falling off. Then when my third week hit I stopped loosing.Five days went by... nothing. In fact, I had even gained a pound. Boy was that a reality check. Not only was I going to have to change the eating habits I was going to have to change other habits also and sooner than I had expected. Time to exercise! I hadn't realized that I was walking when I had gotten home from the hospital and some where along the way I had stopped and so had the weight loss. Bet you can't guess what I am doing again! Bye for now, I will let you know how I am doing in a few more weeks... Christy
