Hi everyone! I had my surgery last Wednesday, May 17 and came home a couple days ago and am doing very well. I just can't believe it's all over and I'm home recovering. It seems like time goes by so quickly. I had a very successful surgery and have nothing but good things to say about Mayo Clinic Hospital in AZ and Dr. Kelly and his staff. I was taken exception care of. I was fortunate to have an epidural and didn't feel some of the pain as other members of this site. So far these past two days at home, I have done okay on the pureed foods. Like others, having a hard time getting all my water in. I'm having a hard time getting comfortable and sleeping. I've tried my bed, the recliner and the couch, so hopefully this will get better. I'm a little restless and a little bored, and have to keep telling myself not to do too much for two weeks and to let my body heal. Our bodies have gone through a tremendous amount of trauma and changes and I have to remember that. I hope everyone has the same successful surgery that I have had and I'm looking forward to getting better every day. I'm haven't posted much to this site, but I truly appreciate all the well wishes and prayers that were sent to me. Take care to all and look forward to reading everyone's posts. Prayers to all! Conny

Hi Conny, Congratulations on your surgery date. I know you must be excited. I think it is really thoughtful of you to remember your husband at this time by sending him cards during your hospital stay. He will feel very special. I too am a little afraid of surgery the Needles, the pain, the thought of placing my life in the hands of someone else. I know though that the Lord will be watching over me & that many people will be praying for me as they will be for you I am sure. We will make it to the other side so try not to worry to much about the bad things & try to think about all the good things. We are going to have our chance to be a new person with a better quality of life. God Bless & Best Wishes.

Hi Conny, Just wanted to wish you well on your upcoming surgery. I know that you must be real excited, but I can understand feeling anxious as well because in some ways just the thought of the WLS has made me jittery. Just try to think about all the positive things. It sounds to me as if you already have a wonderful agenda all lined up after your surgery--Hiking,White water rafting, Cancun---Sounds like a lot of fun to me---Go for it & Good Luck.
