Gretchen, I am with you on the whole CIGNA thing - They are a big PAIN IN THE ASS!!!!!!!!!!!! I just slipped by with my approval after my doctors office was told I was denied! It also took threats after soo much running around and putting me off. I finally got the approval and 1 week later the surgery(Jul 14th) It can happen- keep fighting until you make them give in istead of the other way around! GOOD LUCK my thoughts are with you. - Diane Koch

Gretchen, I too have Cigna (PPO) insurance. I got my approval within 1 week of calling them. I called originally for them to get a fax # for my surgeons office to fax it to. They had faxed it, and do to complications with another fax they expedited both of my pre-approvals. Thank god. Mine shows it has to be medically necessary for them to cover it, but I guess with Gerd and a Hiatal Hernia thats enough for them. The guy that called me with the approval said if its in the network all I will have to pay is my $100.00 deductible. The only waiting I am doing right now is waiting for a date from my surgeon. I've been told sometime in June, but haven't heard a thing yet...Deb S
