"Dr. Ingram was recommended by my surgeon and has been doing WLS psychological evaluations for several years. I think he has a very realistic opinion of the surgery and whether or not an individual will do well psychologically post-op. I had a few questions to ask him about how the psych evaluation plays into WLS, and he was actually interested in telling me his opinion on the requirement and what it's value is to the patient.
My evaluation and testing was on Monday, and my report was sent directly to my surgeon that same week. The only thing I would have liked to seen done differently is for a copy of the evaluation to be sent to me as well. Dr. Ingram told me that I could come back to the clinic and pick up a copy (a bit of a drive) or request that my surgeon send a copy of it from their files.
Dr. Ingram was not in my insurance network, so I wrote a $400 check on the day of the evaluation, which covered the entire cost. "
