Hi everyone, Mary here! Thanks so much for all your kind and sincere posts. I'm feeling much, much better. I started feeling more like myself on Sunday. I guess the antibiotics kicked in. I'm eating normally now and feeling pretty good, just a little tired. Thanks again to everyone who's posted and especially my angel, Wendi, you're the best!!!

Mary, I am so sorry to hear that you are ill with food posioning. I too had the same thing in August and it was horrid. I spent 4 days in the hospital and living was not an option that I looked forward to at that time. I had never been so sick in my life. My PCP did tell me that we are at a higher risk for food posioning after surgery. I had not heard that before. She said with our small pouch the amount of gastric juices is very limited and we can not fight off the "bad" stuff like others could if we ingest it. Take good care of yourself and do not do too much too quickly. Keep the fluids going even if eating is not something that you want to do. KimmieTN

Hello angel flying in with an update on Mary. She has been having a ruff few days. She got food poisoning last week which made her very dehydrated. She also got an infection in her incision. She ended up at the Kaiser ER where she was re-hydrated with an IV and given antibiotics for her food poisoning and infection. I am hopeful that she will be back on her feet and feeling better soon. Mary, welcome to the LOSERS CLUB!!!!! I hope your recovery is an easy one. Give yourself about 4 months to get back to yourself again. Do not get down. It took me and my husband both about 4 mos to feel good and not be depressed. The anesthesia hangs on for a long time. Keep posting about your progress, we are all very interested.
