Karen, I just wanted to tell you that I know where you are at right now. I came out of surgery (Feb 27) fehemently saying how I regretted what I had done... and telling my mom (who is researching to have the surgery) that she did NOT want to have it done. The pain on top of the 'what have I done to myself" feeling was overwhelming. When asked a month ago.. 'would you do it again'?? I still did not know. I just say now that the surgery experience to me was like high school.. glad I did it, but GLAD it's over... believe me sis .. it DOES get better. I am now 3 1/2 months post op and down 76 pounds. I have good eating days and some bad.. but in all the weight loss does compensate for what we go through... an easy way out?? Ppl who think that should have to walk in our shoes just one day after this life changing ordeal. God bless... Gail

Karen, I'm pre-op so I can't speak from experience - but I think feeling some remorse at this time is SO normal. Don't fret - the good days are coming! Soon enough you'll be doing the happy dance! CC

Karen-sorry to hear that your surgery went so long and that your back is bothering you. At least they found the leak during your surgery, otherwise, you would have had to go back again-yuck! Give yourself some time, you will be feeling better soon. Take care.

Hi Karen , I'm sorry to hear you had such a rough go of it in surgery!!! BIG HUGGSSSSS!!! it gets better day by day !!! just try to think of all the doors that will open to you as time goes by and all the new and wonderful things you will feel like doing! I was in so much back pain before my surgery that i could not stand for more than 3-4 minutes ... now after only 7 weeks i can walk all over a store and have no pain at all ... i can't even express how thankful i am for the surgery and i sure hope it will be that way for you soon also!! just remember THIS TOO SHALL PASS... the first few weeks are tough but very do-able and the attitude you decide to have about your recovery will make all the difference !! May God bless you and speed your recovery and give you a happy lighthearted I can-do-anything attidtude to get you through it all !and may he surround you with positive people to love and support you as needed! love and hugs Barbara
