***Angel Report!!!*** Ok.. for those who may remember on January 24th.. Barb went in for surgery and they had to stop it just short of cutting her open. The stuff they make you take to neutralize your stomach acid came up and got in her lungs. She woke up on a ventilator and it was really scary for her because she didnt have her interpreter with her to tell her what was going on. That was pretty scary. Luckily she was on it for about a day and then went home. Well I am happy to report she has a new date!!! It is February 8th!! YES.. JUST 2 more days! She feels really good about this date and it is at 2:15 in the afternoon. She is in a little bit of pain because her doctor told her to stop taking her anti-inflammatories. She is excited though because some of her friends are coming down and taking her out for her last big supper! She said she is really positive and cant wait to start her new life!! Please post to her surgery page and lets hope that this second one goes off without a hitch!!! She is such a sweetheart.. Barb.. ILY!!!!

Hi Barb, I live in Alameda and was thrilled to see that you live in Oakland. I'm sorry there was a delay in your surgery and am glad to hear you are okay. I haven't began my process yet, but feel very inspired by your walk.....My best wishes for healthy and strong lungs...K

Barb, I'm sorry your surgery ahd to be canceled for the moment. But better to have it cancelled than be in ICU for months because of respiratory problems. Start those deep breathing exercises, remember abdominal breathing, opens up those lungs clear to the bottom.Hand on your tummy, Breath in through the nose to the count of 5, hold, let out by pursing your lips & blowing to the count of 7, hold & do again. If you do this several times a day 4 or 5 times each you'll really build up your lung capacity. You should feel your tummy move while doing this.

Barbster! I am sorry to hear about the delay but glad that it makes it safer to know before rather than after...I am here for you if I can help in anyway...even if you like the Raiders! DeniseInFL

Barb, I'm sorry to hear about the delay of your surgery, but I am glad they found the problem early. Hang in there, take your meds, and soon your time will come. Best wishes and prayers.

BARB- You hang in there! This is only one rung on the ladder, and you'll make it up to the next step. Just hang tough girl.
