Melissa, you are in my prayers every day as you again face surgery. Given all that has happened, I do think a reversal is the best alternative for you. Quality of life is so important. Be proud of yourself for making the best decision for you---it takes incredible courage to go through what you have lived through. Please stay in touch with us, and particularly the gentlemen who also had a reversal in recent months. Remember that we all came from the same place, and are still here as a source of support for you. God bless you and hold you tenderly in his arms.

I spoke with Melissa on the phone last night, what a sad thing to have no choice but a reversal. My prayers are with her.

Hi Melissa: I'm so sorry you're going through this nightmare. Have you thought of calling a top bariatric surgeon with lots and lots of experience for a phone consult about your nausea? Surely there are people on this site who can recommend a few surgeons you should try and talk to. There's got to be a solution out there somewhere. Have you talked to a pharmacist and explained the medications you take and asked if there's some unusual drug interaction going on here? I believe the bariatric association has some sort of surgeons meeting in June. Maybe you can get someone to bring your case up before everyone and ask for recommendations. The most important thing is for you to feel well both mentally and physically....if you are convinced a revision is the way to go, please make sure your surgeon has experience in revisions. Wish I could give you a big hug and take that nausea from you.

Dear Melissa - There is something just not right here. Someone is not wanting to address the issue of your postop problems. If you can't get the help you need from your surgeon, please seek help with someone else. It must be so frustrating to feel like no one cares how sick you are feeling, how depressed and miserable you are, etc. What kinds of foods are you trying to eat? You do know your body best and you can't quit...you have been through so much already and have gone this far! You have to keep pushing for someone to help you. You DEFINITELY need some kind of counseling too. Whether it's for the depression these complications has brought on or if it is actually just the food you are missing. THEY CAN HELP YOU MELISSA!!! Trust me, I know all about depression. I haven't had the surgery yet, that is June 18th. I just hated to hear that you regret this every single day and I want this to be successful for you. I know right now hearing "pray" probably doesn't ease your mind much, BUT you have lots of others out here praying for you and if you'll just open yourself up to believe things are going to get better for you, it will. Maybe you need to make an appointment with your surgeon for just a consultation to sit down with her and tell her how you are feeling and how sick you have been. I know you probably have done all of this, but since she is so busy maybe you need to get her alone in a consultation with you one on one. I can't imagine how stressed you must be and how desperate you must feel. PLEASE hang in there. There are people out there that care and will help you. It's getting to those people ok? We are thinking of you. Just e-mail us if you need us. I wish I were there, I would make sure you got the help you need. Plus I'd get to see my Pittsburgh Penguins!! :) Take care and KEEP YOUR FAITH and I am believing things are going to change for you.

I am sorry to hear your have such a hard time during your post-op. I have been reading the post daily and the pattern that I see, is that everyone's body react differently, you may need more time for your body to adjust. For me personally, I find that prayer and just talking to God daily helps me get through the rough periods in life. God makes all things possible! Ask for his help and you will receive it. Having a positive attitude and meditation daily have been the best thing for me in the morning. I am scheduled for my surgery May 23rd and this will be the approach that I will take. I know God is more powerful than any doctor I know. Before you meet with your doctor again ,you may want to write everything down you want to say and be very specific. Hopefully, he will address each of your concerns. If he doesn't anwser your question ask him to refer you to someone who can.

I hope and pray that everything gets better for you. I understand your frustration and how helpless you feel. Maybe your body just needs more time to heal, since you started having gallbladder problems shortly after your first surgery. You will be in my thoughts and prayers!

Melissa, I am so sorry you're going through all this. It really makes the surgery seem not worth it. I think you should go see a nutritionist for other food choices. I also think you should find a WLS surgeron in PA with a better reputation and have a consult with them. They may have some answers that can help make WLS a success for you. God Luck and know that you are not alone out there!
