Hi Deb, First let me that you for your kind and thoughtful words on my surgery for tomorrow. I can't believe it's here. I have to tell you. I have a friend who has just moved to Fla. (I'm from PA.).She is in her early 60's and had this surgery in June. She has lost over 120 lbs, looks 10 years younger, and fit into her daughters clothes (10-12). She was 130 lbs overweight like I am. So keep going and if you have to find another insurance co. do so, another Dr. do so. Whatever it takes to make you feel at peace with yourself and your decision. I have not met one person who said they wouldn't do it again in a heart beat if they had to. Take care.

Deb, I have Anthem BC/BS PPO. I had to appeal as well. I needed 18 months of supervised weight loss and to prove 5 years of MO. I had records dating back to 1999 with 3 different meds I was on but I didn't have consistent follow up visits or weigh in's. I guess just the fact that I had documented proof of at least attempts worked. Got my appeal overturned. Good luck to you and try not to get too stressed out. I have a feeling it will work out for you. Take care.

Deb, I know exactly how you feel. It's been a very long process for me. I have become impatient many times. This all started for me last Oct. After a denial and successful appeal I am finally scheduled for surgery, but not until Sept.16th. My surgeon is very busy. Most people on this site, that I can tell anyway, don't have to wait near as long as I have for everything from their consult to surgery date. So hang in there and I'll be praying for you. Take care and keep being persistant.

Good Post, some of us do have NO choice if we want to have any quality of life. Best of Luck with your journey as you work toward getting a date & approval.

Hello Deb~~~~~~I have two very large hospital gowns I would let you have for the cost of me mailing them to you. Please e~mail me and I will give you my phone number. I had to wear them when I was being transported from one hospital to another hospital 150 miles away. My Dr. drove me, when you call I will tell you the story. She is one of the best Dr.'s in the world. PEACE
