5/17/2001 - You go girl. Thanks for being my guinea pig. Due to your success I'm going forward. Thanks for all the help on Linda's insurance and mine also. I don't know what we would do without you.

05/15/01 I made it to the otherside, today I am 2 weeks and 3 days past surgery. I know without a doubt that this was the right decision for me. I came back to work-halftime-yesterday. I have an office job, so it is not physically challenging for me. The most surprising thing for me, is that surgery makes you more weak and tired than I anticipated, I had never had surgery before and I guess, unrealistically, I thought one week out I would be 100%. I'm not, but 2 weeks out I am 80% and I think that is great...The immediate time following surgery, was not as bad as I had been led to believe, my biggest problem was how sleepy the morphine made me. The day of surgery, I made them disconnect the continous pump (and went to self med only). I can not stand being out of it. The HARDEST thing is eating, I knew that I would not physically want to eat, but I do not want to eat emotionally either, that surprised me, the eating queen. I have lost 25 pounds so far, I am thrilled. I will just contine to work on getting my food eaten. Till next time....-25 pounds Trudie

Congratulations Trudie! Happy rebirth date to you! I pray that all went fine with your surgery, and wish you a good recovery. If you or your husband feel up to it I would love to hear how your stay at Southpointe went and the first two weeks postop. I live in Kansas City and work in Liberty, am 5'8" 287lbs and my surgery is scheduled with Dr. Yates on May 15th at 9am. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

04-24-01 Today I leave for St. Louis in preparation for my surgery Friday AM. I guess it is normal for the butterflies to start, I think my hubby is more worried than I am. I just want to thank each of you for your support on this leg of my journey. Your prayers and kind thoughts mean so much to me. For so many years, I felt like this was my very private battle, you have allowed me to be open and myself. I will see you on the "other side".

Good Luck on your surgery next week, Trudie. I live in Lee's Summit, MO and have been to two of Dr. Yates seminars in KC. It seems really REMARKABLE all that this surgery can do for a person. Take care, and have a safe journey. Lisa Robinson
