HI Kathy! I had Lap RNY on 3/12/03 - my profile gives pretty good detail of what to expect if you want to check it out. Immediately after the surgery you will be fine, they give you pain medicine so don't worry about that. Walk every time they ask you to, it really does help! When you get home take it SLOW, let yourself recover. If you have any specific questions let me know! Good luck!!

HI Kathy. My name is Mary Beth and I am also having surgery here in Buffalo on May 5th. I feel the same way as you, nervous and excited. I can not believe this is actually going to happen. I think everyday after surgery will just get better, as far as healing. I am thinking just take it one day at a time. I seem to have an emotional connnection to food so I am going to go to therapy also to help overcome that. I think it is like a new start., I am determined to make it work. Good Luck. Mary beth

Hello everyone. I have a surgery date! May 5th. I'm both excited and nervous. My pre-op appointment is this Friday, and I have a list of questions to ask! If any of you have some words of wisdom to share with me re: what to expect following my lap RNY -- particularly those first 1-5 days, I'd sure appreciate hearing from you. Not knowing what to expect is the hardest part of this. Full Steam Ahead!!
