6/20/03 Update! I'm 6+ weeks post-op and doing well. I complained and worried about the level of fatigue I was experiencing that first month, but at about week 4 or 5, I turned a corner, and don't feel that overwhelming tiredness anymore. Sure, I tire in mid-afternoon, but I'm not immobilized like before! I think it must have been my body recuperating from major surgery and anesthesia. That just knocked the wind out of my sails. I returned to work this past week, and felt very good. It felt good to feel some energy, and I was actually happy to be back at work! (What's wrong with this picture?!) My weight loss is steady, though not tremendous. I'm at just a smidge under 30 pounds loss now. I confess, I don't drink all the water I should, I don't eat all the protein I should, and I don't exercise nearly enough. So, I have no right to complain whatsoever. Reducing my salt intake, increasing my water intake, and getting into an exercise program are my top 3 priorities.
No problems eating. I can pretty much try anything. It's always an experiment. Bought myself a blender yesterday, so I'm looking forward to some nice fruity, protein smoothies for breakfast now. This will be my main method of getting protein, I imagine.
Lovoe and blessings to all who venture onto my profile page and read this. Whether your pre-op or post-op, I bless you and encourage you to keep up the good fight.
