I'm Baaack!
Aug 31, 2009
Wow, so it's been a really long time since I've been here! So much has happened. I'm a mom now! I had my daughter Hudson on March 27th, '09. Bandwise, while pregnant, I got a partial unfill, that I totally took advantage of. Baby plus junk food equals 316 lbs. That's like 13 lbs. past my all time pre-band high. I lost some weight after giving birth, obviously and breast feeding helped some too I'm sure. Finally got to go in for a fill on June 25th. I weighed 294 then. Thats 22 lbs. since the kid. The fill has been a little snug, but it's working good and I am getting re-trained on how to eat. Today, September 1st, the scales said 272. That's 22 lbs. in 2 months. I am happy with that. I just wish my 2x shirts were fitting better. That damn dunlop belly just jutz way out there and makes my shirts lokk goofy. Maybe I'll drag the spanks out again... :)

Ten Days past my last Fill
Feb 04, 2008
These fills are just amazing sometimes. The day of my fill (01/24/08) I weighed in at 244. Today, just 11 days later, I weigh 237. Yeah Baby! 7 pounds!! Whoot - whoot!!
I have found that I need to reevaluate the way I eat again. I have slimed a couple times since my fill, and I know that's not good. I just can't slow myself down from taking BIG bites, not chewing well enough, then just moving on the next BIG bite. I realize my issue, and I don't have that problem when I'm at work eating. Prolly cuz I am busy reading and clicking a stinking mouse in between bites. <
>
Anyway, now I have to consistantly work out. I need to skeem up a plan to keep myself on track. Perhaps that pair of Diesel shoes I like would be good incentive.
Got filled!
Jan 30, 2008
My fill last Thursday went well. Doc boosted me up to 2.3cc. I definately have some restiction now. I've slimed a couple times this weeks trying to get used to it. I'm trying to chew better, but I guess maybe I am still just eating too fast. My soft stop signal doesn't even have a chance to go off before it's too late. I'll get it tho - I have to. I have been making better food choices since my fill and that makes me happy. I'm also cutting caffiene out of my diet, for now anyway. We inseminated last night, so I have to give our lil bean the best chance I can.
toodles!
On the UP Swing!
Jan 21, 2008
My last fill has helped a ton. I've stabilized and haven't gained in a while. I'm not losing, but I'm not gaining and that's what's important to me! I have another fill scheduled for Thursday Jan. 24th. Hopefully that will put me back on the losing track. My bandiversary is coming up March 20th and I'd really like to round off my loss # to an even 80 lbs. That will give me 55 days to drop about 15 lbs. That's 2 lbs. a week! That should be do-able...
I'm really sad that the prolapse put me so behind. I feel like it totally threw everything out of whack. It really put my brain in a different place. It's gonna be hard to get back to it, but the my next fill should pretty much force it to. Thank goodness! I am kinda timid of my next fill tho. This one should put me back to the level I was when I had the prolapse (if he puts in 0.5cc). One thing that is weird tho is that people keep complimenting me on my recent loss. I know that the scale hasn't budged, but apparently, my body continues to change. I am thinning out threw my rib cage, but the budda and love handles are still hanging on - they are hanging lower, but they're still hanging on.
On another note, we are getting back on track with the baby thing soon. Swimmers will be delivered next week. I've been taking my Geritol Vitamins (cuz there's a baby in every bottle) and folic acid in preparation. Hopefully it will take this time! We've both got the baby itch so bad right now. It's making us both crazy!!!
Re-FILLED!
Dec 13, 2007
So, it's been almost a month and a half since my un-fill. I'm sorry to report that I have gained between 8-10 pounds (I think). Honestly, it doesn't really bother me that much. My pants still fit!!! I kinda think that's bad. I really enjoyed my "time off," without restriction (obviously). It seemed like I was constantly hungry! Since my band would let me get away with it, I indulged in a lot of bread & pasta type stuff and the usual Thanksgiving Holiday crap. Yesterday afternoon, I got a .5 cc fill. I think that brings me back up to 2cc in my 4cc band. For dinner last night, Becca and I went to the Outback. I had a bowl of Creamy Onion soup (which was VERY GOOD btw) and some creamed corn. Things went down nicely so I had a couple bites of the wifes salad and we split a chunk of cheesecake. No problems going down, and the handful of almonds I am munching on for breakfast seem to be fine too. Much better that the last time I had a fill. That time I was foaming at the mouth like a rabid dog by the time I got out to the parking lot. Eeewww!!!!! Now that makes me feel like I need more of a fill, but I know that it can take up to 2 weeks for restiction to kick in from a fill. I'll just wait it out for now.
Currently, I need to concentrate on getting back to the basics. Watching my portions, cutting out the junk, and moving my bootay! We both need to do that and being the awesome team that the wife and I are, we should show some results real soon! I'll let ya know....until next time! Happy Holidays!!!!
Mmm....Holiday Eating!
Nov 25, 2007
Hey!
Well, I'vw been unfilled for a little while now, and I have found that my control is going down the drain! For months it seemed I was either eating mush or getting sick, so now that I can eat normal foods comfortably, I am. Unfortunatly, the foods that never went down go down much better now, like solid meat, salad, bread & pasta, oh and drinking at meals. I've also found that potatoes and eggs are still evil mutant foods that I should forever avoid. I've been a very bad girl! AND I have gained 5 pounds.

Most people would hear that and be like "Wha...poor you," but when you are used to losing and are still supposed to, it kinda sucks.
Realizing that I was mentally in a bad place with this whole food thing, I called to get a fill or Upper GI scheduled - whatever Doc wanted. (depending on my prolapse) Well, my prolapse must have been mild enough to warrant NOT having another Upper GI, so a fill is scheduled for Dec. 13th. Thank goodness it's before Christmas. If I eat like I did for Thanksgiving I swear I'd explode!
Aside from my guts, things have been going well. Not really looking forward to the whole X-mas shopping thing and spending money (stresses me out). I've been slacking a bit around the house and I need to get moving. I need to stash the BBQ grill, picnic table & fire pot in the garage or basement so the snow doesn't eat them. Also, before we get real accumulation, I gotta get my arse up on the roof and put up some of that heated wire stuff that helps prevent Ice Dams. We've got a bad spot in the utilityroom addition that leads out on the deck. Besides the fact that I don't want the roof ruined, the wife says she doesn't want to "Bust her ass again this year when she puts the dogs outside." Uh, yeah, that's my Que - I'm on it!
My Un-Fill!
Nov 06, 2007
My un-fill went great on Monday. They got me in ahead of time since I was there early like they requested. Just had to wait for the flouro machine to warm up and the computer to boot. Doc got me on the first stick and removed 0.5 cc. My first fill was 1.5cc, my second he added 1cc for a total of 2.5. I was way too tight so he took out 0.5. After the prolapse, he removed another 0.5 cc. So I am back to 1.5cc total. He said that my prolapse was very small and he was surprised that it was causing me problems. (Ok, the stoma is the size of a dime. Shove a couple layers of stomach tissue thru that little hole and tell me how much room you have left DUH#&%:!!!!) I could tell right away that it helped. They gave me a glass of water to drink before I left to make sure everything was running smoothly and it was. Typically taking a sip of that water would have hurt a little and taken a while to trickle down. It ran right thru. Ahhh - relief! My next few meals I took it easy eating kinda mushy stuff and still had no problems. On to harder foods and solid meat and all is well. I'm getting hungry about every 3 hours or so. In that respect, I think I could use a little fill, but not until I am sure the prolapse has gone back down. I am enjoying NOT being tortured thru my meals. I forgot how it was supposed to be. Not painful. If it hurts to eat, please talk to your Doc, don't put it off. Another thing I realized was that I got my soft stop signal back - a single hiccup when I am full. Haven't had that since June. I feel like a million bucks!
Uhg!?!?!
Nov 01, 2007
This has seemed never ending, but finally we've figured out the problem. Ever since my second fill (back in June), I've been having trouble eating. I got a partial unfill and it helped a ton, but still sick a lot. I figure it's like this: I eat 3 meals a day - I get to enjoy and keep
one of them. The other two meals I either get stuck or slime, pb or something. Some days are WAY better than this, and a few are worse. I finally went in to see the Doc. He scheduled me for an Upper GI and lone behold, I have a prolapse just like the wife did. Monday I go in for an unfill. and hopefully it will correct itself. I think Doc needs to slow down with these aggresive fills - they are too hard on us! I understand that I will be in Bandster Hell having no restriction so hopefully I can muster up the motivation to bust butt working out. I really want to keep my portions down and eat like I should, but there is one thing I need to do. I haven't been to Fazoli's since surgery. I am going to make an exception and I am gonna get my all time favorite an Original Submarino!!! The whole sandwich is huge, so I'll chop it in half or a third and maybe a bite or two of the awesome bread stixs they have. I know all that bread is horrible, but just this once since I won't have the restiction to actually get sick on bread. Sometimes a treat is neccessary!

Good news, I've finally broke the 230-235 lb. platue. Yesterday 229, today 228. Damn that makes me happy! Not having restiction to fix my band scares me, but I guess it's for the best!
I'm so Impulsive sometimes!!!!
Oct 08, 2007
Hopefully being impulsive will work to my advantage this time. I sent for a rock climbing harness today. It's something I've wanted to do for years, only have tried it once, but loved it then. I think I'm finally getting up the courage to do it on my own or with the wife. The one and only time I went, I weighed about what I do now, maybe a bit less. I had a hard time holding myself up with my upper body strength (my arms just shook and shivered), but I managed to make to the top of the wall a couple times & fell off halfway up once. I'm worried that I have lost a lot of muscle since surgery, but I do try to keep up on my protien. We will see how this goes. Tuesdays are a 2 for 1 special at the CMU rock wall and the wifey wants to go. I may be doing a lot of push ups from here on out to get in shape for this.
Platues SUCk!!!!
Oct 04, 2007
Ok, so the wife and I both have been stuck at platues for like a month now. This morning, I think I may have finally broke it. I was bouncing back and forth between 233 & 239. Just a couple days ago, I was up to 239. This morning 233. Usually it takes longer for that gap to close, but I'm not complaining. The next few days will tell if I have truely broken the platue or not. Wish me luck!!
Otherwise, my eating has been kinda up and down. i wish I could be more consistant. Either the band will or won't let me eat, or there are crappy food options available that I eat just because they WILL physically go down. GRR!!
Wifey bought a motorcyle! It's pretty cool. It's old and needs some TLC, but I think it'll be fun to ride. Hopefully it won't be too powerful for her to learn on. It's a Kawasaki KZ750N. Old 4 stoke bikes like this are known rip. I'm acually afraid that her bike could kick my bikes butt. Don't tell her I said that tho. Hehe!
I made a small purchase for my bike today. It's a tail light visor. I just thought it was cute, and I really need to a) start customizing my bike or b) sell it so I can upgrade. I think "a" will be more feasible at this time since I really don't need more bills. On my list, in order of importance: throttle lock (cruise control), highway bars with foot pegs, lights & wiring harness for my light bar + headlight modulator, new saddle bags, front & rear fender trim AND leather tassles for my control levers just because I know the wife hates em!
