Is it normal?

Jun 13, 2016

Hi all. It's been a while since my first entry. A lot has happened since then. I took the plunge and got sleeved on May 10th. Everything has gone great. I experienced no post op pain, minimal gas, healed super fast, no complications and I've lost 31 lbs in the month since the surgery. However, I'm concerned about the extremely little quantity that I am able to consume (liquid or solid). I wonder, is it normal to only be able to consume 3-4 spoonfuls of puréed food, 2-3 tiny bites of soft solids, and not being able to drink 8 0z of the protein shake. Is this normal at this stage? Is it too soon to tell? Has anyone experienced this a month out? Am I paranoid or is it possible my sleeve is too narrow? I'm happiest drinking Diet Snapple Iced Tea through a straw. Ok is straws are not recommended but I'm happiest and most comfortable drinking everything through a straw now. Oh and I'm always always thirsty no matter how much I drink? Is this common? Any thoughts you have will help.

How long does it take?

May 31, 2016

I got sleeved on May 10th and have lost 27 pounds. I'm still in the purée stage but it's not fun. I feel everything in my stomach and I can't get anything in that is more than 1 - 2 oz. Everything I eat does not sit well so I opt for liquids and clear soups to keep me full but I'm afraid I may not be getting all of my proteins in. Also despite hardly being able to eat, my scale hasn't moved all week. Can anyone tell me how long it takes to be able to eat solid foods normally. Everyone who I know that has done this says I'll be able to eat anything I like, eventually. So, how long does that take?
