Carole may this surgical journey bring you greater health and healing.. God is so good and I pray that he watches over you and brings you to the other side without harm... Continue to look up when all you want to do is look down.. He will be there for you for he said I will never leave you nor forsake you.... Hugs

Carole Todd is my mom. It has been 2 weeks sinse her surgery. She looks amazing. She has lost about 30 lbs and you wouldn't believe the difference in her. She seems happier and more at peace with herself. I am so proud of her and I am grateful that she has had this oppertunity. There is a sparkle in her eyes that I don't think I have ever seen (except when she loves on my son Andy lol)and just about a new youthfulness in her. She has always been an attractive woman but now she is absolutly beautiful. If she keeps this up my dad is going to have some competition. I love you Mom!!!

Hi Everyone, I thought I had better check in and say hello. My surgery was on 6th May and everything went great. I got to come home on the 9th. Things don't seem so bad when you are home again. LOL! I am losing weight and inches. I have lost 20 lbs, 1 1/2" from my bust, 2" from my waist, and 4" from my hips. That seems a little fast; but I'm not complaining! LOL!! I'm eating and drinking like I'm supposed to. As far as walking, I can just hobble around the house as I have a bad knee (torn miniscus) I'm ok for a while then get a lot of pain from it. I wish it would go away..... it is so lovely outside! I WANT OUTTA HERE!!!!! 'scuse me, a little cabin fever showing through :o) Hope everyone else is well, getting well, or managing to find the patience to wait. Keep waiting. It is SO worth it. Hugs Carole

Hi Everyone, Thanks for all your replies and encouragement. What make this so much easier is knowing that you are not in this alone. Reading through the photo gallery I found a great new friend named Angie. I emailed her because we only live about 10 minutes from each other, and we can help and support each other, which is great. Carole - you have made the right decision! Keep positive about this surgery, and do exactly what the doctor says and you'll be fine and you will be amazed at how fast you lose. I am now 57; at age 55 I had my open rny - and everything went great. And now, guess what? I have lost 163 lbs; I now weigh 138! My only exercise has been walking about 3 miles per day. I am so happy for you. No more blood pressure pills for me! It's fabulous. First two ways were a little rough but after that just follow the doctor orders and you'll be great!
