Lisa King

"Lisa is alway there to answer questions. Not only do we have her office number but we have her pager number so we can contact her anytime we have a question regarding food. She was helpful in finding a protein supplement that I was able to handle. For the holidays we had a holiday party for our support group meeting. Everyone brought a dish that we could eat. She made us see that we could still have party food that looked nice and tasted good and was okay for us to eat. Lisa encourages us to obtain as much information regarding our surgery and proper nutrition as we can. She encourages us to share the information at the support group or with her and she then makes the information available to all. Lisa is also there to lend an ear. She will listen to any concern or success you have. She makes you feel that your success is just as important to her as it is to you."

Glen Moore

"First impression of Dr. Glen Moore is that he is quiet person who "tells it like it is". He told me facts and described what the surgery involved and the risks of the surgery. He treated me like an adult with a brain and encouraged me to become infomed about the surgery. A prospective patient attends a seminar about the surgical weight loss program and one of the support groups prior to their surgery. I think the reason I was so calm about my surgery is the fact Dr. Moore was so concerned about my safety. When there was an abnormality on my EKG he postponed my original surgery date. I wanted to sign a waiver or whatever necessary for him to do ahead with the surgery. He would not reschedule the surgery until I had additional testing done to make sure it was safe for me to have the surgery. When I left his office the thought went through my mind "If I did not trust Dr. Moore to look out for my safety before the surgery, how could I trust him to do the surgery". The aftercare program includes a monthly support group meeting and once you reach your "goal" - a visit to his office once a year for the rest of your life. Both Dr. Moore and Dr. Spencer are at the support group each month. Dr. Moore is an excellent surgeon. He answers any question you might have including once about any surgeries he has preformed that have had complications. One of the reasons I had ruled out the surgery in the past was the bad publicity around the surgery. After meeting with him and talking to him I was willing to have the surgery."

Maryview Medical Center

"When I was first advised that my surgery was to be at Maryview I was skeptical. My stay and care at the hospital could not have been better. "
