Dr. Minasian is the best! He is one of only a few baratric specialist PCP's in Michigan. He is so caring and don't be surprised if you find that he spends 15-20 minutes talking to you. He actually cares about you and what's going on in your life. He's a great doctor.
I am surprised to read os many glowing comments about Dr Minasian. For myself he was neither compassionate nor supportive. He did not discuss test results, and everything i received in the form of tests i had to ask for. I even found myself talking fast to communicate with him while he was walking in the door of the next patient. we had a heated discussion on the phone and not only did he not listen to what i was telling him but he talked over me. He asked questions every time and if he had only takien the time to review my chart he wouldn't have to ask the same questions over and over. My experience with Dr Minasian ended with him telling me to find another physician.
I dont doubt he is a good dr, but I do not like it at all when doc's think I have no knowledge, I am not ignorate of my health or health problems. I also did not like when I did have a problem I was given two meds I dont even use in the hospital. I refused to take them. Next was we are all given his # and email to use with questions. I did and I got no response. Good thing I didnt have a problem.
Dr. Minasian was one of the most understanding people I had ever met in my struggle with all my weight ups & downs. He was also one of the most thorough in examinations and diagnoses. I thank him daily for a chance at a new life and a longer one.
Dr. Minasian concerned with my overall health, both emotional and spiritual as well as physical. Instead of just rubber stamping me, he sent me for a stress test due to my high BMI, 71.4. He seemed to be genuinely concerned for the plight of obese patients.
