Einstein Elkins Park Hospital

An odd place - many of the staff seemed discontent: bickering with each other and expressing negative comments about management. But, the environment seemed ideal: small patient load, lots of support staff. I saw a cast of different characters -- 5 or 6 different nurses, a med nurse, one to take my vitals, one to change linen and spruce up the bed, one to help with medical procedures. Everyone had a different role and different schedule. The better I felt; the less notice was given to me (didn't have towels and soap for a while; didn't ask if I had gone to the bathroom after the catheter was removed). An odd experience overall, and yet, I felt I got very good care.

My only con to this entire stay was that some of the nurse-aides were not willing to do little things for me because I was a bariatric patient and they have specialized bariatric nurses. So, I always had to wait for my Angel of Mercy Nurse, Mercy. Yes that was her name....she was a fabulous nurse who worked her a** off for her patients. Then Evelyn was my nurse in the morning, and she was a hoot, and was extremely helpful. Overall my nurses were great, but their aides were annoying. Overall, though, it was a nice stay in a private room and all my visitors were accomodated perfectly.
