Columbia Memorial Hospital
All in all it was good . My only problem was the IV pole! The MD wanted me to walk but the pole they gave me on the last day did not roll . It ended up falling on my and hurting my shoulder . The staff were really nice . The fourth floor staff were extaordinary . They went above and beyond. I was in ICU for 4 days there staff were nice but didnt go the extra mile . I guess it was because they were more buzy? I was very surprized how the staff were in such a good mood down to the transporters! The staff is about to go on strike because of the poor pay and med insurance. I was the 2nd to last bariatric patient there . The program closed due to the high cost of the insurance that would have to pay because they are trying to get the award for center of excellence. All my MDs patients had to get transfered to other MDs . My Md and staff are very saddened to not to continue this program .
The nurses were wonderful. They never "forgot you." The aides for the most part were great althought there were a few times when they forgot that you were a human attached to the list of vitals that they were required to complete. Everyone else was polite and went out of their way to to make things go smoothly.
