Dr. Chlysta was very friendly and outgoing, he is willing to work with you on any problems that come up and attends our support group meetings. The office staff is wonderful, always friendly and they help you schedule everything. Aftercare if strongly emphasized and there is a structured program to follow but it is outlined on paper and is easy to follow. The risks of surgery were addressed and to a level that I could understand, he even has charts to help explain. I was even told if any question came up after my appointments that I was allowed to call. His surgical competence and bedside manner were outstanding!

My first impression of Dr. Chlysta was, Am I older than he is? Did he just graduate high school. But After I met him, I was very impressed, went to one of his information session's, he explained everything in great detail, answered all of our questions, he even stayed for the support group meeting, what impressed me the most, at this paticular support group meeting, he had a Physiciolagist there teaching us Pre-& Post OP exercises, he helped him pass out the bands & even did the exercise's with us!!!! I said this is the one for me (you LEAD by example). His office staff is great, Cathy his RN & coordinator knows her stuff!!! Rose is an ANGEL!!!! He told my husband & myself all the risk up front!! Yes, there is a structured program, he has a Coordinator, Cathy RN, Nutrionalist, Kim RD, Pyschologist, DR Gilbertson on his Pre & Post OP aftercare program. Dr Chlysta has already been in contact with my PCP & my Pre-Op physical therapist to see how I am doing!!!! HE'S ON TOP OF IT!!!

Dr. Chlysta is a nice man and more importantly an excellent surgeon. My impression of him remains the same since I first met him over a year ago. He explains everything, gives you plenty of time to ask questions and seems very enthusiastic about his work and his patients. I saw him so little after the surgery in the hospital I can't say much about his bedside manner. He's young and has more people skills to learn. rnTwo different times at his office visits he had surgical residents with him. So, if you're shy you might not like that.rnAll in all, I was very satisfied with the care I received at Akron General and Dr. Chlysta's office. I believe there should be a more structured aftercare program though, perhaps more support meetings maybe a gym, exercise program. I'm very glad I had the surgery and had it close to home.

My first impression was that he was nice but detatched.rnrnMy impression didn't change much over time. rnrnHis office staff has a couple of really really nice people, and one or two \"stuffy\" people, I felt.rnrnI liked least about him was his lack of bedside manner.rnrnFuture patients should know he did a very good job on my surgery.rnrnHe didn't emphasize aftercare a whole lot.rnrnHe did have a structured aftercare program.rnrnHe was frank and up front about the risks.rnrnI would rate him 8 out of 10 overall.rnrnHis surgerical competence was his best feature.

Dr Chlysta is one of the most caring and pleasant Dr's I have had. He makes sure you understand everything and puts you at ease with his bedside manner. He offers a monthly support group where he explains the surgery as well as answers questions. He takes time after the presentation to discuss one on one if you like. I really liked that. When I 1st met him in early '05 I was able to talk with him after the meeting and that's when I was sold on him. You just don't see that type of service anymore. I look forward to the next few weeks as I prepare for my surgery. I know I am in good hands.....

I don't think I could ever tell you how wonderful Dr. Chlysta is. He makes you feel so comfortable. He truely treats you as he would treat or want a family member to be treated. And he has a fun sense of humor.rnHis staff are just as wonderful as he is. They are always on top of everything. I'm very greatful to have found them all!

My first impression was that he was a very nice guy. He joked around with me, and was just overall friendly. His staff is great. Especially Rose. I have called so many times with questions and she never made me feel like I was annoying her. Dr. Chlysta kept checking up on me after my surgery and that made me feel good. He is an extremely skilled surgeon and he also has a great bedside manner. I would recommend him to everyone.
That would be my personal opinion.
