My first impression of Dr. Pop is that he scared me, we were a couple of minutes late and when we came into the meeting he said well your late! But it only took a couple of minutes to determine he is very nice. His office staff have all been very nice. So far there is nothing negative he has been very nice and helpful. He was very forthcommiing with the possible complications, did not scare me but made me think. Overall on a scale from one to ten he is so far a ten. I am still preop so I hope he is still a ten after surgery. Both competence and bedside manner are important, if I had to pick just one I would want competency over bed side manner.rnrn
First Impression: Very caring, professional, EXTREMELY knowledgeablernrnOffice staff: Very supportive, professional, caringrnrnAfter care: stresses aftercare as a positivernrnStructured after care: most definatelyrnrnAddress Surgery Risks: very much up front, no holds barred, yet not in a frightening wayrnrnRate: so far, (as I haven't had surgery yet,) top notch, on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the best, he is most certainly and without a doubt a 10
Dr. Pop was a wonderful surgeon and made you feel completely comfortable about your surgery. He explained everything very well on what he was doing and answered your questions very clearly. I would recommend him to anyone that wanted the surgery. He has given back my life that I didn't think I would ever have again. Thanks Dr. Pop!!
My first impression of Dr. Poplawski is great. I like the fact that he gets to the point and he has a sense of humour. I found all of the staff to be very supportive and friendly. I feel that surgical competence is the most important, but the fact that he also has a good bedside manner is a bonus.rnrnSo far, I do not had any unpleasant experiences with the Barix Clinic at all.
Dr. Poplawski is very personable and friendly. He is a knowledgable and kind. Wonderful bedside manner. He is also very busy. Sometimes to much. rnrnThe office staff is efficient and friendly.rnrnI didn't like feeling like I was on an assembly line. That happened a few times, but generally, everything was fine.rnrnHe was very open about the risks of surgery. rnrn
I meet Dr. Poplawski on September 12/2006 in MI at my first consult! My first impression of Dr. Poplawski was how friendly he was! He explained how the procedure was done, how long it takes, the pros and cons of having it done, what to do before surgery, the risks with the surgery, etc. His staff were very helpful and kind. I can't really say there was anything I dislike about him! I mean we did wait for a long time to see him but there were about 20 other people in front of me! So it shows that he took the time to listen and answer any questions and concerns that one might have! He was very foward about the risks! But I see it this way, you can't say you didn't know what the risks were! At first I was scared and that is why it took me almost a year to make my decision! OH really helped me see that as a surgeon Dr. Pop is responsible for letting us know the risks! One thing that stood out the most was his smile and sense of humor! Thanks for all the info. Dr. Pop!
When I entered Dr. Pop's office I was 90% sure that bariatric surgery was the answer I had been looking for. I had tried every kind of weight loss you can think of. I had been obese since second grade, and was reaching mid 30's topping 315 pounds. When I left his office I was 100% sure I was going to make this happen. He walked me through the procedure, not hiding the fact that it would be difficult and life changing, but offering assurances that it would be successful if I was committed. He stressed the importance of finding out why I had become obese; through therapy, or whatever else might be needed. I became more at ease with this life altering decision the more I met with him and his competent staff. Any questions I had, they answered. They offered support groups, and follow-up visits and calls to make sure I had what was needed to be successful. The only negative thing I would have to comment about is that the wait for some of the office visits were long. They were at the end of the day and they were running behind. However, this was maybe 3 visits in all. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Poplawski and his staff! If I had to do it over I wouldn't do it without them.
