Ronald Moore Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr Moore and HIS STAFF are amazing. I went through all the steps (hoops) to get my WLS approved by insurance and I appreciated the follow up every week. Once the surgery was done, I remember Dr. Moore asking me about my physcial activity since the surgery. I had been a bit timid in getting out and about and a little delicate. Well, I will never forget what he said "You have to move your body to get the weight off" I started walking - at first for 30 minutes, then 45 minutes, then an hour. I then began to run, small stretches of areas in my neighborhood. After a few months, the running became a part of my life. I have now finished two 1/2 marathons this past 3 months and am running in the Iron Girl 1/2 Marathon in Clearwater Beach in 2 weeks (April 10). I have lost 96 pounds and have some loose skin, but not too bad because of my exercise and eating habits. I am so happy with the results. The more weight I was losing, the faster and longer I could run. My kids now run with me (7 & 10 years old) on 5k runs around town. They are so excited their Mommy "isn't fat anymore". I know they loved me when I was overweight, but we have so much more fun now that I am a fit healthy parent. THANK YOU Dr. Moore and Staff! I am forever grateful for my success!

Dr. Moore has the best bedside manners. He smiles and he is eay to approach. He takes his time and answers your questions. My first impression of him was WOW!!! As a nurse I am involved with many doctors and there are a small group that are naturally kind. He fits in that group. He is very relaxed and has a sense of confidence that makes you as a patient believe that your are safe when you are in his care. I have heard of stories by other people and their post op problems. Dr. Moore has a program (Although it may not be like others) but it works and I am glad that I choose him as my surgeon. I would highly recommend him to anyone for surgery. He is a brillant bariatric surgeon as well as a general and trauma surgeon. I love what he is doing.

I first met Dr Moore when he was working with another surgeon. I was immediately impressed with his knowledge and the number of laparoscopic surgeries he had done. I really wanted the laparascopic procedure, and I wanted someone who had extensive experience, so I decided to have him do my WLS. rnI am now 3 years post-op, and my regard for him has only increased. I feel blessed to have found such a gifted surgeon and quality human being to be my doctor. He was always very compassionate, never made me feel bad for being obese and needing the surgery. I always felt my questions were answered thoroughly, and he would adress my concerns even before I brought them up. He was very realistic about the risks vs. benefits of the surgery. rnHis bedside manner is among the best I have ever experienced. He has a good aftercare program, which I am unfortunately not able to utilize fully due to the distance from where I live. I drove from Sarasota to Ft. Lauderdale for my surgery and post-op care because of my faith in him as a surgeon. rnThe only difficulty I have had is occasional mis-communication with his staff. I once drove over to Ft. Lauderdale for an appointment I had scheduled weeks before, only to be told he wasn't in the office that day and I had never had an appointment. It wouldn't have been such a problem had I not driven over 200 miles each way for the appointment, and taken an entire day off from work unnecessarily. rnI truly cannot imagine finding a better bariatric surgeon, or a more caring one. I still see him twice a year for follow-up visits, and I really look forward to them. rnHe also recommended the best plastic surgeon for my needs after I reached goal weight- Dr. Bernard Shuster. I feel this referral alone has done wonderful things for my body and self-image.rnDr. Moore gave me back my life. I will be forever grateful that he is the doctor that I found to start me on the road to having a happy, full, and active life as a \"normal size\" person. I do things now that I was unable to do when I was 20 years younger!rnOf course, the views I have expressed are from my own personal experience. I would be glad to communicate with anyone considering having Dr Moore or Dr Shuster do surgery for them.

Dr. Moore was fantastic. He took the time to explain the procedures to me (we discussed Lap-Band vs. RNY) and he listened carefully to my concerns. He invited me to attend his support group meetings so that I could hear what other patients had to say about their surgeries, which I've found to be really helpful. He is very open to questions and willing to take the time to talk to his patients to address all of their issues.

I liked him the first time I saw him. Had a nice smile on his face and was very polite and professional. My impression of him has not change. He is genuine. For the most part, the office is staff is very helpful. I've had about 2 or 3 ocassion when I thought a particular individual was either having a bad day or just downright rude. She has improved her attitude. I have no problem with her or any other staff members. I have no dislikes about Dr. Moore as of this day. Everything about him is great. Future patients should know that he is straight forward but in a very nice way and has both an aftercare program and a monthly support group. The risks of surgery were addressed at my first visit. He performs Laproscopic RNY and has trained six other surgeons on the procedure. I was given a folder which had information to read. Very informative. I would rate Dr.Moore a ten. I've had no problems with my surgery nor him. Everything is going great. I cannot say that his surgical competence is better or vice versa. They are both great. He is an excellent surgeon. I would recommend him to anyone and he is highly recommended in the Broward County area. He is the best in my book. I could not have made a better choice in choosing him as my surgeon.
