Dr. Pleatman is a very up front doctor and did a great job in explaining the procedures available for obesity surgery. He made the recommendation of the Roux en Y because it is full proof and he can do it laproscopically. The women in the office are terrific! They are friendly and do their job very quickly, no need to follow up they have it handled.
Risks were all explained, doc gave me all the information that I will need to make this an easy venture once I am recovered.
He has a support group that he hosts once a month at the hospital, so you can ask as many questions as you need to and he is willing to be there for you too.
He is great, my surgery is April 3rd, I will let you know the rest after then.
Dr. Pleatman is quite professional and laid back at the same time. He will definitely let you know what is on his mind with out reservation. He is a very skilled surgeon (I have miniscule laparoscopic incisions). Every time I had to go into the hospital before surgery the staff raved about him. I felt very secure in his care. The office staff could not be better. They will fight the insurance with you, listen and take action. Carla and Renee are great! Dr. Pleatman is an excellent choice for a surgeon. Medical aftercare will be necessary beyond Dr. Pleatman. Nutritionists and medical docs will be invaluable, if they are good ones. A Medical doc who specializes in treating obesity and diseases thereof would make life much easier pre-op and post-op. I wasn't satisfied with the nutritionist Dr. Pleatman referred me to. She didn't have enough experience with bariatric surgery diets.
I have my consultation with Dr. Pleatman on Wednesday Jan, 15th. I am a little anxious and not sure what to expect from the whole experience but I am excited as well! I guess I'll have a lot more to say next week!
He is tall! That was my first impression. Totally up front & honest. Explained in detail the different procedures. Answered all my questions & asked some of his own. His office staff is awesome - 2 of the sweetest girls to ever have to deal with. He really pushed the LAP BAND, but I am not thirlled with having a foriegn object in my body so I am sticking with my first & final decsion of laproscopic gastric bypass. He has given complete, in depth information on what to expect & what to do afterward on his website.
Impression of Dr. I work in the medical field and researched physicians in my area thouroughly. Dr. Pleatman is a highly skilled laparaoscopic surgeon, this reason, among others, is why I chose him. And bonus for me, he's in my network :) The staff is WONDERFUL to work with, and very friendly. I won't have an "overall rating" until after 02-03-03 ( my surgery date ) I have chose the Lap RNY. Wich me luck :)
