Dr. Baranov is the best surgeon. I had my RNY surgery February 8, 2017 and I am extremely happy that Dr. Baranov gave me this amazing tool. Dr. Baranov gave me my life back. When I was released from hospital, a few days later, Dr. Baranov called me directly. He has given back my healthy life and just recently my husband has joined me in this journey. On August 7th 2018, Dr Baranov, a very highly qualified, bariatric surgeon performed Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass surgery on me. I am a nurse and have been researching bariatric surgeons for over a year. I researched bariatric surgeons from area hospitals including Saratoga, Ellis, and St Peters. I chose Dr. Baranov and I am very pleased with him. He is a Dr who lays out his expectations of his patients right from the beginning of the whole process. If you follow Dr Baranovs instructions throughout the entire process you will not be disappointed. I am only 5 days Post Op and I feel fantastic. I will not say it is a walk in the park to get to where I am right now. But the again this is a LIFE STYLE CHANGE .. not a quick fix. Dr Baranov and his entire staff at the office and in the hospital have been fantastic and very professional. I have found Dr Baranov to be very involved in my care at every step in preparing , during and even after surgery. I have met many former patients of Dr Baranov prior to me choosing him and have yet to find one patient who has been dissatisfied.

Dr. Baranov is the best at what he does. His staff is also top notch. The preparation for the procedure was thorough. Dr. Baranov explained the procedure and what I needed to do to be successful completely and in an easy to understand manner. I had gastric bypass and was amazed at how quickly I felt good! My procedure went flawlessly. Dr. Baranov came personally to see how I was doing and spent as much time was was necessary. I never felt he was rushing me. When it was time for discharge, careful, clear explanations about what I needed to do to see continued success in my recovery were given both in person and in written form. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who is considering gastric surgery.

I had gastric bypass 5 days ago. And I feel fabulous. If you are looking for a surgeon Dr. Baranov should be your first (and only) choice. He is meticulous. From the comprehensive introductory seminar to post op follow up, you will be in the absolute best of hands. Everything is thoroughly explained, options are explained, and questions are always answered in depth. The office is run like a well oiled machine. Waiting time is never more than 10 minutes. It is a very busy office but you are always treated as an individual and the office team has always been very responsive.

I am just 5 days post op but 7 months in the Bariatric program with Dr Baranov and his team. I live 1hr south of Saratoga Springs and could have chosen the “big” Albany Hospitals. Great doctor. Dr Baranov is an amazing doctor. I would highly recommend him. He tells you up front what he will be doing and is very honest about everything. If you ever had a question he is always willing to answer. He cares a lot about his patients.

Dr. Baranov and his team are extraordinary in their practice and care. They provide honest and up front information about bariatric surgery options. At the end of August 2017 I made the best decision on of life. I attended one of Dr. Baranov's seminars on weigh loss options. He is a eloquent speaker and very detailed. I left there knowing that this surgeon knew what he is doing and I know that he can help me on my journey. I made a appointment for a consultation with him personally. He reviewed my details ( obese, RA, diabetes, and high blood pressure) gave me recommendations on what he thought was the best approach. He is very strict but thorough. His patient's well being is really his goal. Over the past few months I went to nutrition appointments, mental health appointments, support group meets, and followed his strict diet and exercise routine. I love 20lbs before my surgery on 2/7/18. I am only days out of surgery and I am off most of my meds and feel wonderful. Dr. Baranov and his staff were there the whole process. I never felt like a number I felt like I mattered. I had some insurance issues and they went to bat for me days before my surgery. I believe that because of the amazing team in his office I am going to succeed to make all my future goals. I cant thank him enough.

from dr. baranov to his p.a.'s, nurses, nutritionists and receptionists, the gastric bypass experience at saratoga hospital could not be more professional, accommodating, helpful, friendly, compassionate and caring. the doctor and his support staff truly care about the people they are trying to help. in my six-month run-up to surgery i learned a number of things about my health - besides the strain my weight was putting on my body. his staff set up appointments for me with the local sleep center (found out i have severe sleep apnea); the doctor assigned to address my vericose veins has begun a program to rid me of guaranteed complications; the psychologist visits helped me iron out some issues and make sure i understood the path i must now walk; the numerous discussions with his nutritionists have helped me to understand why i need to eat the way they suggest. none of this would have been brought to my attention or been made available to me without the roadmap provided by dr. baranov and his professional staff. since my surgery i have been contacted by his office on more than one occasion to make sure i am doing ok. when i need info, i have never had to wait for it. i can't shower enough praise on dr. dimitri baranov and the incredible professionals with whom he works. i didn't know what to expect on this lengthy, intense journey. and now that it's over, i can't believe how easy it all was. all the credit goes to the good doctor and his incredible office.
