Hello all my "VGS" sisters and brothers my name is Yvonne!
I don't know quite where to beging so I will start with on July 15, 2008, I had the "sleeve procedure" done by Dr. Guillermo Alvarez and now today it will be one month and I have already lost 37 lbs. I was not alone, my daughter had the procedure done with me on the same day. My sister and niece had done the procedure earlier this year with great success, also by Dr. Guillermo Alvarez! So now that makes 4 of us in one family that have had it done! We are all so glad we did. The inches and the weight loss is soo noticeable on all of us. As for me I was very leary at first and then I spoke to his very experienced staff, especially his nurse Susan...she is heaven sent. She answers all your questions right away. And I had many. My daughter and I actually had a great (fun) experience with the whole thing. We were very impressed with how organized and efficient everything went from picking us up at the hotel, with a wonderful person named "Rosy" to the cute and always smiling nurse "Cristina". Cristina is a wonderful and very sharp nurse. She watched over us like a hawk. The procedures were over before we knew it. I went in first and then my daughter. We were walking up and down the corrider that evening. We thought we would be feeling terrible afterwards, but instead found ourselves in almost a very relaxed state. Everyone at the hospital were very kind and helpful. We remember Dr. Alvarez and Dr. Gabriel checking on us alot and always answering questions that either we had or my husband had before and after surgery. What I am really impressed with is the tiny little stitching and how well it has healed to almost not even being noticeable. I also enjoyed going to see the Alamo and the Riverwalk in San Antonio, where we went with our sleeve sister Carrie. She had the surgery same day we did and we all went to see the sights together. All in all we had a great experience!
