Hello all! My name is Trish and I'm 37 years old. I have gained and lost, gained more and then lost over and over again. I'm sure most of you understand that all too well. Well this past year while at my heaviest (209lbs) my doctor gave me the news that my diabetes has caused some complications with my kidneys. It's early enough that she was able to give me the lowest dose of lisinopril to help me with that. That's when I knew I had to do something and fast! Once the kidneys fail there is no cure and no time to say "I should have..." or "I wish I had..." so it's now nor never! I have a 6 year old son who I have to see grow up. I want to be a part of his life and be active and keep up so to speak. I want him to be proud to say I am his mom and not be ashamed of me when he gets older. So with all of this said, I decided to do the lapband since it was the most "simple" procedure. My sister is a clinical coordinator for a gastric bypass doctor at a weight loss clinic and has given me the low down. She along with my husband and parents all support me in my decision. My surgery is scheduled for April 22nd and I'm so excited. I can not believe the time is a week away. I'm ready to close this chapter of my life and begin a whole new story and pray that it ends in...and she lives healthy and happily ever after! I pray that all of you who have already began that journey as well as all of you who are about to embark upon it nothing but great success in everything you do!
