Wow has it been a long time!

Jul 06, 2008

I have been really bad about posting it seems.  Let's see where to begin.  At my last visit with Dr. Shebani, I weighed in at 232 lbs.  So I am doing well.  Blood pressure was good.  Only issue is I have been bad about remembering my vitamins.  Needless to say my bloodwork showed that.

My wife is doing well.  She is currently 29 weeks pregnant and has only gained 10 lbs this pregnancy.  Her vitamin intake is good and her blood pressure is awesome.  I amreally proud of her.  She has been having a hard time with accepting the weight going up but I lether know she is doing well and the baby is growing fine.

I started another job - brings me to 80 hrs a week.  Gotta do what I gotta do.  But that is ok.  I am blessed that I have the opportunity.  Lord knows with the extra weight on me I wouldn't.!

Wonderful news on my home front

Mar 22, 2008

This January, my wife told me the most wonderful news - we are expecting our third baby this coming September!  This child is definitely a miracle as our first two were IVFs.  Thank you all for your support!!!!!!!!

Thanksgiving was a blessing

Nov 28, 2007

I thought it would be hard not to hork down food for thanksgivng.  Afterall it is one of the holidays you gorge yourself.  But I was pleasantly surprised that I did not feel that way as I sat down to eat.  I ate well just not overly well.  I even tasted some pie.  I went by the three bite rule.

I am especially thankful for Dr. Jawad.  He afterall is giving me that second chance at life.

3 Months and going strong

Nov 07, 2007

Saw Kevin this last Monday in October and he told me I was ahead of schedule.  For the longest time I thought I was not doing all I should.  For him to say that meant alot to me.  Kind of like a confirmation I am doing well.

Since then, I have weighed myself and am now 289.5 lbs.  It has been quite some time since I saw the other side of 300.  My wife and I are getting healthier everyday.  I am proud of her as much as she is proud of me.

One day at a time

Sep 06, 2007

Well life is getting easier and I am still amazed at how little I need to eat in order to feel full.  At one point I could down a half a box of pasta and still want something more.  Now the little bit my wife gives me is so satisfying.  Not to mention it is wheat.

I am starting to see a change in my appearance though small for now.  I am getting compliments and of course the clothes are falling off me so that helps.  I am so happy to be able to go into a Walmart and actually buy clothes off the rack!

My wife continues to plod along losing between 2-4 lbs a week.  She is already a century loser and I think we support each other well.  Our daughter;s are already reaping the benefits of thinner parents.  We can actually get down and roll around with them without losing our breath!

One month visit

Aug 29, 2007

Well I saw Dr. Shebani today and had the GBeast removed - YAY!  All in all I am doing well.  Down from 375 to 329.  Couldn't have asked for better.  Not much of a talker aside from business.  Was hoping this visit would not include pain and it didn't.  last time I saw him I don't think he used the staple remover correctly. lol

Anyway, on to bigger nad better things now.  Exercise - exercise - exercise!!!

One week later

Aug 15, 2007

I jumped on a medical scale and was pleasantly surprised.  I lost 8 more lbs.  I am now 338.  I can finally tell something is happening.  Only 2 more weeks to go before I am rid of the beast.  I cannot wait.

My wife is doing well.  She is now down to 239 lbs.  I am proud ofher.

Stepped on a medical scale

Aug 08, 2007

Today before work I decided to take a chance and step on a doctor's scale.  I am glad I did!  I am now 346 lbs.  Big difference from my start weight of 375.  I feel better now and my confidence is building.  Soups are getting played out though.  I am starting to crave "real" food and the GBeast is definitely an annoyance.  Can't wait for the 29th to get here!

Still Kickin'

Aug 02, 2007

Well I ams till kicking.  22 lbs down since all this began.  Not as well as I would have liked.  I still feel hungry after eating my creamed soup.  Hoping this is normal.  I saw Dr. Shebani and was not too impressed by his lack of interest in what I had to say.  Kevin did not make it in time for me to see him.  Hoping next appt. he is.  I go on Aug. 29th for my GBeast removal.  I did however get my staples removed.

I have had some soft foods.  I tried a half of a scrambled egg.  I was amazed at how fast I got full.  Just wish I did with liquids.

Almost a week out

Jul 27, 2007

Well here I am almost a week out. The major pain and soreness from surgery is over with.  I am now looking forward to the benefits of surgery.  I feel les bloated and sore.  This is a good thing.  My wife continues to be my cheerleader and source of inspiration.  She is doing so well on her WL Journey.  I can't wait for the GBeast to be removed.  Long way to go for that though.
