3 days post op. Hrm

Jan 16, 2012

Well, I had my sleeve done this past Friday and so many things have happened since then.  I warned the doctor that I don't do well with anesthesia and sure enough when I woke up, I was freaking out and yelling so much they had to resedate me.  I had some fairly awesome nurses in the hospital but I also had some who were less than caring, and it really showed.  I actually filled out those little comment cards to give accolades to the good nurses.  Ajitha, Carolyn and Barb!  I found that warm blankets and hot packs felt really good on my abdomen and under my breasts.  I found that different temps really hurt my sleeve and I will have to get used to it.  I also found that gas was THE worst thing really.  When I finally started passing rectal gas, I was soooo happy!  Even now, when I do my really runny poop with the explosive farts, I am so relieved it is coming out of me, somewhere.

I found that sitting up in a chair felt much better than being in the hospital bed.  That liquid Zoloft makes me want to literally wretch, I couldnt take it.  I found comfort in a stuffed giraffe my husband and kids brought me and I realized I did NOT want visitors.

I am three days out and feeling better everyday.

The waiting is the hardest part

Jan 07, 2012

Well, I began this journey several years ago, when I decided to go to a seminar.   I completed all my paper work but never mailed it in.  Then a really good friend of mine Coral joined our team at work and also was talking about WLS.  About a year later I went back to another seminar, this time I took my husband so he could know what was going on.  Now I am 6 days from surgery.  I cannot wait to join the losers bench!
